Greetings everyone...my name is Larry, and I am a Crew Chief in the USAF. I will begin by telling the story of my off road passion. I had just gotten home from work one night and was climbing into bed, when I got a phone call from a guy that had just gotten his Xterra stuck in the mud. At the time I was borrowing my father-in-laws Z-71 for some furniture moves and had never done any real off-roading. Well, I followed his instructions on how to get to his location, and ended up getting the Z-71 stuck just as he came into sight. Funny thing about that was the fact that my left front and right rear tires had dropped into the smallest of mud filled potholes, the other two wheels were planted on solid ground. We walked about 10 miles out of the gas road and gathered some supplies to get the Chevy out to find that it didn't have tires capable of enough traction to pull him out. I had more fun than I imagined was possible in the process. About three weeks later I bought a 1985 Toyota 4Runner, and about three months after that I deployed to Afghanistan for the second time. While in Afghanistan, I watched videos of stock FJ Cruisers doing some very impressive things and decided I would buy one when I returned home. As it turned out, when I finally did return home, my car needed some work and I had to rent a vehicle. It ended up being a 2011 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner. My wife and I had driven the FJ a couple times and liked it just fine, but when we went down the road for the first time in the Tacoma we fell in love. Two weeks and three days ago we bought a Speedway Blue 2010 Toyota Tacoma TRD OffRoad. I have already put 2300 highway and 15 offroad miles on it. Much to my amazement, I actually even thought about selling the 4Runner for the first time! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my Runner, but we can only afford one build at a time and if I sold it then I could put that money into the Taco! Only God knows what the future will bring...as of right now I don't need to be making a decision because I have orders to Okinawa, Japan. We will see what happens. Give this newb any insight you see fit and hopefully I can give a good read in the meantime.

 Welcome and pics of the tacoma and 4runner. Also thank you for serving our country. Someone might be interested in your 4runner (me). I also see you said the 2011 was a prerunner is the 2010 you bought a 4x4 or prerunner?

My Taco is a 4x4...I loved the Prerunner, but I am in love with the TRD OffRoad!!

There are some short videos of the Taco on my YouTube channel (OverLandTacoRunner) but I'll be sure to get some pics up soon...as for the Runner, you can check it out at this link...

and thanks for the warm welcome. Hope all is well at Dover. If my wife can get a job teaching for the DOD, then I should be able to go crazy on the Taco...but don't tell her that...lol

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
If you're going to leave the keys with your wife you better be prepared to lose the taco, my friend; she's NOT giving it back.

5000 obo. The truck LOOKS like it is in rough shape, but it is very worth it. Minimal rust (but there is some), paint, and sagging springs are the only exterior issues. The interior has some cosmetic issues, but everything works just fine. I just put a high output 140a alternator and LCE header on it, and I have a ARB Air Locker/air compressor with all necessary parts and pieces that I am selling separately. My father, softshelltaco, and I designed, built, and installed a square tube high clearance bumper on the rear, and a square tube high clearance winch bumper on the front. In all seriousness, I don't want to drive it to Fl unless I KNOW that I will not be coming back with it...and I am STILL not sure I really want to sell it. Amazingly, my wife is trying to talk me out of it....weird...
