Yea, the Portland area pricing is ridiculously high. For the same money I can get like twice+ the house in the Phoenix area now after the bust lol...

Oregon has been an expensive market for a long time. Areas like Lake Oswego, West Linn, Bend and Corvallis fit on a list of most expensive places to live in the entire country (excluding areas like Aspen, Colorado where it's just crazy ass luxury). I'll be surprised if a guy from San Diego finds our market to be expensive though. Nothing compares to Southern California unless you're living in the real rough parts.

Just made a fun purchase from www.trail-gear.com ! U-bolt flip kit and weld-on shock mounts for the rear of the 4Runner.

My add-a-leaf only left enough thread on the stock u-bolts for me to get the nut flush with the bottom of the bolt (without washers) :spy: It's safe, for now...

Yeah guys, Portland is cheap compared to San Diego!! :p

That's why I'm moving up here. I'm also sick of boring California weather and how nasty and brown everything is down there. I like green and forests and rain and snow. :)

I'm definitely looking forward to the trails up here.

Derek, what area are you looking? Will you be working on the Westside (Hillsboro/Beaverton/Aloha) or the Eastside (Gresham/Milwaukie)?

Very true. I lived in Oceanside, CA for a few years and when I moved off base the first apartment was $1429 for two bedroom two bath and two covered parking spaces. Oh and that was with military discount also and it didn't include utilities and had a community laundry. After contract was up it was $1550. Moved to a shithole one bedroom one bath for $916/mo with military discount with 1 laundry facility per complex with 3 washer and 3 dryer to share...garbage!

Nope I'm moving up for school. No job yet but I've got a lot saved up and I'll get a part time job soon. My parents are helping out. I love them. :)

I think I would take Corvallis out of this and put Happy Valley instead.

Downtown is gonna be expensive. Look in the NE by Loyld Center. I lived in a very nice area in a 2 bed/1 bath with full basement for 995 a month over there. Your still in "Fareless Square" for the max. And literally 5 minute drive downtown.

What school are you going to? PSU? U of P?

 He's been trying to sell that forever. I saw that listed about 6 months ago.

Happy Valley can be added. But Corvallis is definitely on the list. The hippies that control this city refuse to expand the residential zoning so property value just goes up and up and property taxes are some of the highest in the state as well.

I'm in Washington on a club run that day so I'm out.

    Fareless square is being eliminated.

Yeah, there's no way he's going to sell a used truck for new price. I have to dig through my papers but I'm pretty sure I paid less than that new.

Corvallis used to be THE highest, and it's still ridonkulus. You need to also consider the average wage is much lower in Corvallis vs. Portland area, though the rent is about equal.

by the way the dealer gave took over $5000.00 off the price of the tundra and still gave $28,000.00 for my 2010 tacoma with 33,000 miles on it. now they are trying to sale it for like $34,000

Nice day to get the old rig out for a leg stretch (even though the drive from my house to work is 2.5 miles :D)
