    You should be - if a black bear comes after you its because it thinks you're edible. Grizzlies will come after you because they think you are competition for their habitat and food.

    I've got hundreds of pics of the barns - just part of my routine down there to make a stop the first morning. the tram ride is scary (afraid of heights) and the view from the top makes it all worthwhile. Or you could hike 7+ miles to the top like I do.
    Norris is one of my favorite areas to hit up too.
    If you guys head into the southern loop of the park again stop at the Fairy Falls trailhead and hike to the top of the hill (about 1 mile roundtrip) for an awesome view of grand prismatic spring...its worth the extra time and effort

    I like to hike and bought a kick ass pair of Merrell's just for this trip. Her mom's way outta shape and constantly whines about doing things. She's fine with sitting under a tree, but not sure about her patience for activities that take time. She likes to sit like a Queen Bee while riding shotgun in the Mini-van...I should rented my own car. I just told Amanda about Fair Falls, so she's really interested. She wants to hit Old Faithful again for some sweatshirts for the girls. I wouldn't hitting up the Visitor Center there. I love educational stuff.

    The overlook to the spring is not marked on the trail - just look for people milling around on top of the hills once you get parallel to the spring, there are a couple of routes up the hillside. I think there is a day spa at Mammoth maybe you should 'treat' the MIL to an afternoon massage and facial and leave her there so everyone else can get out and enjoy the park!

    The girls were outside playing... I'm on furlough this week :mad:/:D so we were all outside. Zoie is a viscous puppy :eek: Annie is very patient with her... I'm really impressed with her.
