So we are camping at the lake right? I'd be down to get a reasonable start Sunday morning and hit another trail.

Are you planning on coming back through mosquito ridge and back up foresthill rd all the way to soda springs? If so there are a few fun spots and a fun hill climb around sailor flat. "Hill climb to the sky" is what most people around here call it

I doubt you could make it to Soda Springs from Foresthill due to the snow. I did that once when I lived in Foresthill, so memory's kind of foggy. Doesn't it come out in Royal Gorge (Serene Lakes)? If so, remember they had like 20-30 feet of snow on the ground this winter.

I have friends who have done this trail with some carnage (broken driveshaft, bent links, punctured tires) and without a locker getting back out can be really challenging. Don't get me wrong, a challenging trail is a fun trail but be prepared. Just remember, "It is better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it." Not to discourage anyone from this trail, just a honest assessment. I was hoping to attend this as well but will be getting my HAM license instead. Here is youtube of Hell Hole for those of you who are going, to get a idea of what to expect: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfdviGtB_Fs&feature=related

Good post, maybe we should change requirement 3 on page 1 to read "One locker is HIGHLY recommended", and number 5 to "don't have a full size spare, then don't even bother"
