the raptor should have a f250 frame under it instead of a f150 frame. or you could buy a tacoma and not have that problem at all. ive jumped mine on my 5100's and had no problem drives fine. a guy around here bought a raptor got it stuck in a mudhole and hade to have it towed to the dealer to get it fixed(busted shock water in motor ect)

come out this way and jump your truck on CA dirt doing 50 MPH+ and you'll have a bent frame... bent spindles and broken motor mounts too... tacoma's DO have weak points. dont get over confident.

and the dude that got stuck is a bad driver, that's driver fail not ford fail. blown shock seal is fox fail, not ford fail...

I don't care what it is .. they're just not made for this shit (watch first jump attempt). But there are always those guys who've watched a little too much Bo & Luke Duke who think that "off road" means "in air".

If those guys only knew how many "General Lees" the Dukes of Hazard actually destroyed ... in 6 years over 300. See the "vehicles" section here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dukes_of_Hazzard.

Okay well... after reading through 32 pages on the Raptor forum, it seems to me that Ford has a major :crapstorm:on their hands. Ford is doing everything they can to deflect and deny all responsibility for what appears to be a really shitty frame choice for a truck they sell by advertising it's high speed, off road, long travel capabilities.

And the solution they are providing (at around $800 .. warranty claims are being denied) is pulling & twisting the frame straight. As if once bent, it will ever be anything but weak. Major FUBAR on Ford's part. Wow. Just wow. This is going to grow into a firestorm for them. It's all over the Net, with multiple threads, pics and stories, and the news agencies are now beginning to take major notice .. as they should.

It's being claimed by several sources that the production run frames are NOT what were on the program test vehicles. In one of the advertising videos on the official Raptor site, one of the testers claims that it is their job to push the limits and break things so that the consumer doesn't. Sounds fine in theory .. that is until, after the fact, the corporate bean counters force changes to save coin.

This is not going to end well for Ford. If it was a handful of cases, they could get away with the abuse claim. This is much more than a handful of cases.

i agree... Ford is trying to take the easy way out and leave their customers pissing in the wind.

but, for those Raptor owners who have not yet bent their frame, it is relativly easy to avoid the problem with some simple welding and simple fab

and lets face it, Raptor owners CAN afford to spend some money to avoid the problem

Im with you that dude, took my stock taco before I did anything to it, when I was living in SoCal and I got about 2 feet off the ground came in nose first, I thought I just flucked my truck up bad, but it had no damage, not even the camber or caster was out. so toyota does make a good truck even at stock level.
