wiring idea help please

Hey.. neebie here.. I get braindead at times leave my tailgate down lost a few things in the past month.. I have a bed cover can't the tail gate... I want to install a door jam switch (plunger type ) to the tail gate and wire it into the door ajar switc on my 06 Taco access cab... that way I can use the door ajar light on my dash... Now I don't know my way around this truck as far as Mods go... If some one can tell me which colored wires along the sill plate that works the door ajar switch... or any ideas how to hook up the plunger switc I love to hear from you... Did you get it fixed? if so what was the solution ?

 

why cant you just remember to close the tailgate... (i mean hell since im being told to just click unlock twice rather than trying to do something out of the norm...)
