I was making calls in Cochrane yesterday and was looking for a customer in a rural area. I was unable to find the place and thought I would stop and ask someone for directions. A short bit up the road I came across a place with a sign posted in front of it that said "FARM FRESH EGGS FOR SALE" I pulled into the driveway, parked , got out of my truck and went to the house to buy a box of eggs and ask for directions. As i approached the place 3 dogs began to surround me and bite at my legs. Two were getting really bad and they were biting my legs and tearing my clothing off. I turned to flee and as I was running away on of the dogs got ahold of my pant leg and I fell. I honestly thought I was going to be torn to ribbons by the dogs. I got up and ran for my life and made it to my truck. The owner came up to me and asked what happened, when I told her her dogs attacked me she asked `What are you doing in our yard`I replied `You have a sign selling fresh eggs for sale`. Her only reply as she bent down to examine the bites to my legs was `you need to stay so I can document this`. I said you are not touching me or taking any pictures to document anything, please back away from my truck I am leaving. I stopped at the road took pics of the eggs for sale sign and the entrance to the property noting there were no beware of dogs signs or no trespassing signs just the one saying they were selling eggs.

I went to the hospital, had a doctor look at me,they me got fixed up, had a tetanus shot and went to report the dog attack to the police.

I cannot figure why anyone would put a sign in front of there farm soliciting people to stop and buy eggs from them and let vicious dogs attack the people stopping to buy eggs.

Not letting her take photos was foolish. Now you can say- "I went to that house and go"t attacked...and she can say "I've never seen you before-You must have been trespassing or trying to make a buck."

    Glad you are okay...

I would sue her. For real! I'm not big on suing, but people like these that don't show compassion deserve it. Sue Em'!

They have signs in front of their farm soliciting people to stop and by eggs from them. I have photos of the sign and the entrance, I reported the attack to the police. The property owners are responsible for the dogs that attacked and liable for my injuries and any time I miss from employment.

You can not justify having a sign to lure people onto property and then allow vicious dogs to run loose and attack them

    What kind of dogs?

Should have let her document it. She seemed to want to start the process of doing the right thing. Let us know what happens.

They don't have to justify anything...It's your word against theirs. There is no proof you were on their property other than the fact you said you were there. If she took photos...TADA...You have proof in her hands to go with your photos of the eggs sign.

I believe you didn't fabricate this story...but she can certainly argue that you did. Maybe she says you got attacked on the road or somewhere else and just decided she'd be easy to make a buck off...

It's just like trading insurance info after a car accident- Both parties give each other info...Not just one person.

Yeah exactly. I believe your story 100%. Most people wouldn't have thought that far ahead about letting her take pictures; you just weren't thinking clearly about it considering what had just happened.

You weren't badly hurt or anything from what it looks like right? Just torn up pants? Glad you're alright man. Could have been a hell of a lot worse. Dog attacks ain't pretty.

haha that was a funny story, OP, sorry to say, but it's the truth.

I have been chased myself, and from experience, and this is just from experience, every time a dog has come after me, charging at me, and barking, I literally did the exact same thing, ran at them as they were running at me, flailing my arms, screaming like a fuckin' madman, and every time, the dogs have stopped in their tracks, most likely wondering what the fuck just happened to them hahaha.

Except I have never been attacked by multiple dogs.

If you do get to sue though, it would be great, cuz it could have easily gone way worse, and that damn lady needs to learn a fucking lesson. Glad to hear you're ok...for the most part man! :D

I'm sitting here scratching my head trying to figure out why you wouldn't want her to document it. :notsure: That's like leaving the scene of an accident without both parties exchanging information.

I just had been attacked by 3 dogs, my heart was going like mad (when I got to the urgent care centre a half hour later my pulse was double what it normally is), my legs were sore from the bites and my hip and shoulder hurt from the fall and I wanted to go get attention. She never apologized, offered any first aid or showed ANY remorse or compassion at all. ALL she wanted to do was to try and cover her ass....

Press charges, that's messed up and she needs to face the consequences. The police know how to get the truth.
