I had to since there is 5 billion "what when" threads about a new body Tacoma. People ENJOY the 2nd gen body. It's nicer than any pick up out there now

I had a huge rant about this a while back, I'm going to attempt to copy this over from my blog.

Oh my god I'm doing one of those "Compare to the Competitors" things on Ford's webstie for their Ranger against the Tacoma. There really isn't anything the Ranger has thats better. At all.

    • I have more horsepower and torque
    • Rear Entry/Seating is better
    • I can tow more
    • I actually have FULL 4 doors, not some whimsical half rear door (No offense A/C owners :D)
    • I have higher ground clearance
    • Ford claims best in class fuel economy. Bullshit, that's based on their 4CYL, Manual base truck
    • Their "4.0L" V6 is a SOHC, the 1GR-FE has DOHC, not to mention Dual VVT-i is probably in the works.
    • I don't even think the Ford Ranger has a Limited Slip Differential standard, or even an available Locking Differential.
Look at the Interior too, hahaha the Ford's is shit

And better yet, I laugh my ass off when I hear people put mufflers on their V6 Ford Ranger and it sounds like a damn ricer, when my V6 sounds much better.
    Okay rant done :)

Am I the only one here that prefers the column shifter? Or the more utilitarian interior, but then again I hate luxury trucks in general. Not that I dislike my trucks interior and whatnot, I just like the ranger as well. To each his own.

Tacoma is the best looking mid size truck out there today. Ranger is ugly as hell.

The Ranger outsold the 1st gen but died down when Chevy came out with the Colorado, the 2nd gen Tacomas and Frontiers were released, and when the Dakota was updated.
