First. As I said before. I agree that Marijuana will slightly impair driving. I am arguing the fact that the level of impairment does not match that of alcohol.

    Now.

Do you actually read the articles before you post them or do you just read the title? That is a horribly written article with no factual data pertaining to marijuana use and the accidents. So the NHTSA did an assessment that shows 8% of nighttime drivers were on marijuana, were there assessments done in 1999 and 2009? How did they compare?

Also, It simply says drug use, which, listen closely, encompasses ALL DRUGS, legal and illegal! Obviously the number of accidents is going to increase in 10 years. Do you think population increase and illegal aliens don't have an impact on this? How many of those people in accidents were licensed drivers? I guess you, chris4x4, rex, tiger and the writer of the above article think that accident levels will stay the same even when there are more people on the road. Makes no sense to me, but okay.

You should read this, what? An actual scientific study? Really? And for anyone that hasn't been to erowid.org, I highly recommend it. I have been reading articles and studies on there for over 10 years. There is a massive amount of information pertaining to all drugs.

Trust me, I read all articles put in front of me. I am guessing you don't read that many or you would know that article was a joke.

I am glad your life is much more fulfilling, enriching and happy...

Why are you anti-marijuana people in here? This was not a thread started on should marijuana be legal or not. I did not start this thread to try and convince anyone to change their stance. This was intended for the people that agree marijuana should be legal and to ask for their support.

    neglect, mostly.
ok, i spoke my peace yesterday and have been busy since then. just now reading through all this again reminded me of a point i didn't establish, and it is in regards to the above quoted post and posts like it. . . .

That is, i laugh at all the stoners that try to come off as people that want to save the economy and talk about how much they want it legalized because of all the help it would do to the national budget. just look at me laughing ----> BUT!!, you know what? YOU'RE RIGHT! if weed gets legalized the government would indeed tax it and yes, it would be a likely huge source of income for the government. but you don't want that to happen. trust me. here's why. . .

think about something else smokers like to compare weed to in financial taxation regards - alcohol. lets think about something, how come in the past 5 years a case of beer has nearly doubled in price? that is because of 3 reasons...

    1. inflation
    2. wheat and grain prices
    3. (the biggest factor) TAXES!!!!!!!

here's a quick basic economic lesson for you. when stores sell things, their whole point is to make the most amount of money, note you i said money, not sales. So what will happen is when these stores start selling weed they will price it as high as they can while loosing as little profit as possible. If they can sell something twice the price as it was and loose less than 50% of their business they will. and they will continue to jack up the prices until they find that perfect medium to get the highest profit. So, my guess is that once that happens you will probably be paying more for dope than you are now.

OH! WAIT!!! then your good buddy taxes shows up. You know how the government taxes "drugs"? (ex. booze, smokes) THE SAME WAY. so not only will the stores have high prices, but it will get a higher tax so they could make the most money! you wont be able to afford to smoke once everyone get's their cut!?!?!?!!!

so, if i was you, i would drop the whole "save the economy" crap and just do what chris said and just say " I JUST WANNA GET STONED!!", cause honestly, it's your best argument.

lastly, remember, i really dont care.

I am more than willing to deal with it. I am simply saying I did not start this thread to change anyone's mind. The mind-changing part was started by the anti-marijuana people.

While some of this could be true, you forget how easy it is to grow, and that it doesn't need processing like tobacco/alcohol. This alone will cut the manufacturing prices a massive amount compared those two.

If it were legalized I would pay the price of water, electricity and a personal growers license/tax.

I don't think smoking once a month, if that, constitutes a pot head.
