ABS light on & off, brakes pulling to the left.

Guys I need a little help troubleshooting my ABS warning light. I've tried 2 diagnositics and niether of them gives the error.

The ABS light on my truck constantly comes on and off.

My front left wheel bearing was really bad, so I figured that may be screwing with the sensor, so I relpaced them. No fix, still on and off.

It seems that the previous owner broke the front left sensor cable, right where it connects to the steering knuckle. The connection was pretty crappy, so I undid his splice and properly spliced it back together using solder, wrapped the lines and secured them correctly to the brackets on the steering knuckle. Still on and off.

Today I noticed that when I brake semi-hard the truck pulls to the left. Could this have something to do with the ABS light?

What could be causing the brakes to pull to the left?

The ABS light will normally turn off when I start up, and can remain off the whole drive or turn back on as soon as I pull out of the drive way.

Could a bad caliper make the truck pull, and this be the cause of the ABS?

A stickling caliper can make it pull. Air in the brake line can also make it pull. I dont know anything about ABS, but Im wondering if ABS not working one that one wheel could cause the pulling. Maybe someone else will know.

+1....I would consider the calipers first a foremost. A bleed of the system after that and then see what she's doing.

 

I had the brake system flushed about a month ago. Is it possible they messed up on the flush and there is air in the brake line?

 

Could be. It's not hard to bleed. I would definitely give it a try first.

 

I think I'm going to have the place that did my flush do it.

Espcially since the brake fluid looks black again. I figure they didn't get everything out if the fluid they put in got dark again within a week.
