Some guy offered me $15,500 for my 2004 Tacoma prerunner Xtra Cab with 64k miles. My uncle is offering me his 2005 Tacoma Prerunner Double Cabwith 25k miles on it. Do i sell it and take the 2nd gen or should i keep my first gen?
I forgot to mention i got the Truck for 10k

Kbb for that truck is bout 13k-14.5k...go to any dealer and a truck like yours with the milage they'll want 15k-18k...if you sell it you'll probably wont find a truck like it again for under 15k...but for 17k-18k I probably consider it...lol

I say keep your first gen. 2nd gens are so full of plastic that it's embarassing at times. Don't know how much plastic has fallen or torn off of mine but I know it's too much. Also the tire clearance looks to be more limited in the 2nd gens. I think the 2nd gens are selling so good due to the good mark the 1st gens left. Not saying the 2nd gen is bad- I fucking love mine. Just think the 1st gens are better.

15.5k for that is a great deal. I'd sell it. Unless it means the world to you.

You dont have to buy a 2gen however... I say take the money, do tons of research and find out what you really want, then buy that. For me, the perfect vehicle is a 2nd gen Tacoma. So that's what I'm looking for! Unlike you, my trade-in car isnt worth shit :/

I have a 1st gen and my father has a 2nd, they both have their ups and downs...
OP- I'd weigh what you're gonna use the truck for, if you'd rather have 4wd, if you need the double cab etc... But Thats a good price for a older 1st gen

I think you need to get real my friend

go down the punch list of TSB's for a PLASTIC 2nd gen.

now compare it to a 1st gens TSB

& BTW there IS plastic on a 1st gen. The difference is 1st gen plastic doesn't come off going down a trail, Greg is right, it is embarrassing how the "foo-foo" pieces on a 2nd gen seem to disintegrate , look how they're put together, fucking little tension clips & pins to hold it together, no bolts,no screws.. I love the interiors of 2nd gens but the body integrity is absolute shit.. You must not offroad

Yeah how much. Wouldnt you like to have something newer... less miles... and the 4 door is a plus in my eyes. It depends if that 15k offer is legit or some guy bullshitting you.

$15,500 for a soon to be 8 year old vehicle. I remember when you'd be lucky to get $1,500 for that as a trade in.

I decided not to do it. I didn't really want my Uncles Truck. (Because of the color and no 4wd). Also there really isn't anything in my area for a reasonable price.
