    it would bug the crap out of me. it bugs me now that my flares don't match. and i'm worried that the truck would be one color, the flares another, and the grill another. that may be more than i can handle! :goingcrazy:

    they are dark - black like coffee. and hearty.

    than it would maybe be OK. and i would finally be convinced that the body shop didn't paint my flares the wrong color...i'm still convinced that that is a possibility....

    they're not. you can't see it in a pic but up close in person they are off a bit. ask colton - he even asked me why the color was so different!

    Until I saw it for myself - I did not believe it... I learned this when painting airplanes... Even if from the SAME can of paint, if you paint over a dry area, the paint WILL NOT match. It can be from the same lot and everything, but if some paint has dried and you paint next to it, you will be able to tell the area painted at a different time.

    they didn't do that. they just took the code from the door tag. it worried me because 1st gens came in white, natural white, and super white.

    so you're telling me that for my grill and flares to match my truck i have to paint the whole thing?!?!?:(

    That is true. I think the gun thingy is similar to the spectrophotometer I used when I color matched plastics working in a lab many many years ago.....

    they didn't do any of that for my flares. and if i do my grill then i would be doing it myself.

    i can't believe that my truck is that faded though...it spent the first 9 years of its life in a garage. and i baby it still to this day!

    thats the stuff for plastic parts right? i already spotted it.

    i was pricing paint from http://www.automotivetouchup.com/index-fs-left.htm

    I need to touch up a little scuff on the back corner of the bed too :eek: and the previous owner had a heavy foot so there are tons of nicks in the door jamb. you cant see them unless the door is open but it bothers me.
