Thing about that is there were no crumple zones in 1982, those jumps were probably possible without damaging the frame. Might have damaged the driver with stock seats and seatbelts though.

the re-designed ranger looks stupid... as for performance... IDK

simple fact is, yes Ford dropped the ball when they allowed for this obvious weak point to go into production with the Raptor

but simple fact is... there is a very easy and inexpensive fix... boxed the rear of the frame, add some plate gusseting and relocate the bump stop or replace it... if you can afford a $50K Raptor then you can afford to make these modifications

esp if you plan to mob the truck in the dez at 80+ MPH...

Things that should have been taken care of BEFORE they put it on the lot, espeically on an already 50K truck.

Again, the way it's advertised, is not the way it's built and now that folks are using them the way their advertised, frames are bending and Ford is giving them the finger...what about that says "Sweet deal can't wait to get me one" to you?

It's another piece of shitty Ford engineering, slapped together, sold as something special and people are surprised that it's a piece of junk.

Ford Raptor, under engineered for it's advertised purpose, Ford Transit, under engineered for it's advertised purpose. See a trend? Why folks think "Ford is getting it together" is beyond belief for me bud, they still make giant piles of shit.

i agree with you 100% that Ford should have found the issue prior to the truck going into production and they sure as hell should take care of their customers and not leave them pissing in the wind with bent frames.

people are of course going to use the truck like Ford advertised, and Ford should not say that "using" the truck is "abusing" the truck

but what auto company ever produced a problem free truck?

    Never buy a first-gen anything.

I had a 2000 Focus. It was made in Europe first and brought to the US that year. In Europe they used a lighter motor. So when they tried putting the heavier motor in the US spec ones the front end sagged. The fix? Weld on another spiral in the front coil springs. Then, wrap that weld in rubber.

The problem? Water gets in and the weld breaks. The front end sags down and makes bad noises.

It took me 3 calls to Detroit to get Ford to admit that was a factory defect and replace the coil springs for free.

Oh and the car had 13 recalls for that model year.

Getting things together before they are put on the lot? hmmmmm Toyota needs to do the same. Never in my life have I heard of a vehicle with so many damn TSB's/owner complaints especially being a Toyota. As it stands right now I would rather have an F150. Why do you say Ford makes piles of shit? My dad has an 04 F140 Lariat 4x4. Only problem we had was thepower adhustable pedals motor go out and that was just a few months ago. All we have ever owned were Fords, Toyotas, and Jeeps. We have bought other makes including Chevy, Dodge, and Nissan. Both the Chevy and Dodge gave us nothing but problems. I would like to say my truck has good quality but I cant and if I did I would be lieing. If anything were to happen to my Taco I wouldnt buy another.:(

Cant do. I cant really complain about something that was given to me. I have to make do with what I have. The previous owner towed a lot of shit with it if that makes any difference but I kind of doubt it. I couldnt leave TW even if I got a new vehicle.

    I LOVE THIS THREAD!

My GF's doucher brother tried convincing his parents to trade in his H3 for a CRaptor. This is the same Brosef that tried to convince me his H3 "could go everywhere my Tacoma couldn't." uhhh your H3 has the articulation of a 400lb stripper named Large Marge. I hope he gets the CRaptor so I can F his frame in the A
