It should be common sense to move over a lane, and give the car on the side of the road a little room to work with.

I didn't say that he deserved the ticket and that driving school might help him, to be azzhole. I just thing he's young and would benefit from such a class. That way he'll turn into a safe and considerate driver that shows good common sense.

 first off your flawed in a few ways here. I was in the left lane to pass a tractor trailer as i stated. I moved to the right lane to let the guy that was tailgating me (a dangerous action) pass me. Secondly i was only doing 60, not 80-85. I come from a family of law enforcement and fire, done plenty of time on the side of the road assisting in emergencies so yes i know what it is like.

You also never stated your age, you say i am young. I got my license the day i turned 16, had it for over 4 years, never had a single ticket until now.

You have no idea the person you are talking too/about, yet you are quick to judge based on stereotypes and one simple mistake that could have happened to anyone, including yourself. By doing this you are telling me you have never gotten a ticket, you are also telling me that you know for a FACT that i am a dangerous and inconsiderate driver that shows no common sense.

Pretty insulting seeing as you have never met me, and dont know how i drive. Ive been told by countless people i am an extremely safe driver, smart, and respectful.
I have had close friends die from wreck less driving, not their fault but the person that hit them, and i swore that i would never cause a family the pain that those people inflicted upon the families and friends of the ones that died in result of their actions.
Before you continue to rant about people on this website maybe you should do some research about them so you know what your talking about.

 Le Douche. Him, not you. School of hard knocks I guess. It is considerate to move over but the "youngster" doesn't need to be blasted like an abused son.

I drive in the left lane because my state has stop signs at the on ramp and slow cars entering the highways.

This is the 'move over law' in CA-that you must slow down and change lanes when emergency vehicles (with lights on) are stopped in the emergency lane, shouldn't be enforced in a situation like yours, since it wasnt safe for you to move back into the left lane. The way I look at these kind of tickets is that I may not have deserved this one, but I didnt get a ticket for something else I did. It all evens out in the end.

Got pulled over for speeding on the way home. Small "village" 12 miles from Carlsbad. Was coming into town and got pulled over for 52 in a 45.....I didn't slow down quick enough I guess....no biggy. Cop was cool....we're bs'ing in his truck while he writes the ticket. Then he notices the registration isn't signed. It's not my truck...it's a friend's car I'm driving.....he says no biggy.....I'll write the ticket...have her sign it and the judge will throw it out. Makes no sense to me but OK. Then he says..uh oh.....tags are expired! GOOD GOD! He said let m call it in.....maybe she bought new tags and din't put the sticker on yet. NOPE! They're expired! FFFFUUUUUU. So he gives m a ticket for speeding....no biggy.......but then I get the ticket for expired tags and it's not even my car....LOL. Got to go to court on that one....she's at DMV right now renewing the tags....still kinda peeved at her for it though!!!!
SO REMEMBER!!! CHECK THE TAGS ON A CAR BEFORE YOU BORROW IT!!!!!!

i got pulled over by a cop for doing 81 in a 65, he pulled me over by accisdent
he was hiding behind a road sign (i knew he was there as i saw him on the way from work a few times per week)
    i was at 70 mph.
and i look in my rearview, and see him pull out and his lights turn on

and right after that i look to my side and see....A dark blue tacoma just like mine, but it was a TRD sport instead of offroad. same body style ect.... come flying past me and i think....CRAP.

well he pulls me over and asks to see my liscense and registration, then he asks if there was any reason i was doing 81 in a posted 65 (this was a state trooper by the way) i say nervous like (first time getting pulled over, i learn from my sisters' mistakes) "i had my cruise set between 65 and 70. he asked me if the other truck passed me, i said "yes sir" he said have a nice day and turned around and walked back to his car

i got lucky he saw both cars

First time I got pulled over was right in front of my highschool. I was turning onto the street infront of school and was doing 30ish. Cop radared me from his bike at the 3 way stop in front of school, and get this, WALKS INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE FUCKING ROAD AND PUTS HIS HAND OUT AND YELLS STOP. Great idea officer, walk infront of a moving truck and put your little hand out. So I pull over and since he's a motorcycle cop (Traffic enforcement only in my town) I get my ticket for 35 in a 25, but I was still amazed he walked infront of a moving truck and pulled that shit.

2nd ticket was a week later. 2 blocks from school. Same cop. 37 in a 25. He and another officer pulled me over with my friend I was following. The officer's walk up to my car and my buddies, but the same one who gave me the last ticket walks up and sees that I have a 6 foot tall cardboard George W. Bush cutout in my passenger seat (It was for class). So he just kind of says, what the hell? The other cop said, "What are you pulled over for? We figured you were trying to cheat and get in the carpool lane haha.

After getting 2 tickets in a week I really did cool down. No more stupid speeding and such. Oh yea and I bough a Valentine 1 radar detector. No speeding tickets since (3 years). But ever since I started college I get pulled over by officers for little bullshit because they're trying to get drunk drivers. So I really dont mind.

So far in college I was pulled over by 4 cop cars in the Cal Poly parking lot for "Illegal rear license plate lights" (Blue LED's.) Got pulled over the next night by CHP for the same thing. Fix it ticket. Next I was at home on vacation and got pulled over for a busted front headlight in Jackson, CA leaving the casino. And finally I was pulled over in downtown Lodi, CA (my hometown where I got my 2 tickets) the next night while driving my 25 year old friends Yukon for "Not using a blinker to enter a parking space". He almost tazed the truck's owner while he was trying to explain that I was just the DD for the night.

Epilogue: The same cop that gave me my 2 tickets in a week busted my sister speeding a week later and said "Do you have a brother with a white Toyota who likes George Bush?" Classic. And he was also doing traffic enforcement the day we got yearbooks senior year so I had him sign mine haha.
