hey guys what's your take on the red light camera. I got a ticket about a month ago and they sent me a ticket for $75, I just kinda ignored it. now they just sent me another one for $100, the extra $25 is some kind of surcharge. now what are you guys take on this. pay it or NOT pay it. I don't want this thing to keep piling up or go on my record but at the same time i don't want to pay it if i don't have to. there is a picture of my car's rear license place but no pictures of the front on it. thanks for anybody's input.

why would you not have to pay a ticket? are you saying you didn't run a red light? cause the camera seems to think otherwise. depending on where you live an unpaid ticket can have many different outcomes..including jacking your truck and making you pay hundreds of dollars to get it back

Can't you eventually get a warrant on you if you fail to pay?

Just pay it and be done, I imagine a camera ticket is the same as any other

Yeah but if you don't pay it, that emblem is going to be a lot more expensive than you thought it was going to be.

    of course
It is really easy to beat the red light cameras, don't run red lights!

There are a lot of guys here, including me, who ride motorcycles that would hate to get hit by a Tacoma, or any other vehicle.

    1. they fine the owner of the vehicle regardless of who is driving. If the fine is not paid they will not let you re-register your vehicle until the fine is paid. If it's not paid it will go to collection to f-up your credit At least that is how it works in Md.

    2. anyone who runs a red light or stop sign should get more then a fine. red light runners kill innocent people. I tried to resuscitate a driver that was T-boned by a red light runner. She did not make it. She was on her way back to work after lunch, she was the mother of 4 young children. The red light runner had a bruise on his head....

Pay it, pay attention, drive correctly and safely.

    just my 2cents worth

I don't really run red light cameras. I probably went through a yellow light and the camera just caught me in time. I'm a law abiding citizen i abide by every traffic rules. the picture on my ticket didn't show me running the light. but i guess i could sit here and bitch all night.

The way they are supposed to work is if you are already in the intersection on yellow no picture, enter the intersection on Red Picture.

Either you ran a red light or their camera is set wrong, so you could fight it, but money sounds tight so pay up.

Myth busters tested this, it doesn't work. OP, be happy you don't have to pay the $440 ticket for running a red in California.

    1. I think is f$%^&* BS. Unless they can prove i was driving the car they should not give me a ticket and specially ruin your credit.

    2. Like i said on my previous post. I don't really run red light cameras. I probably went through a yellow light and the camera just caught me in time. i hate those fkn cameras! we just had a vote in houston to not use them and some how even tho they got voted out they are still up because of some loop hole

not that i even have them by my house or have ever been remotely affected by them.

its just the principle of things
