ok so i searched and only found one thread on 15% vs 20%

so i hope to be getting windows tinted really SOON. BUT.. i don’t if i want to match the front with the back on my DC or go darker on the back too. what do you guys think? i have kinda a dark drive way at night.

and can you guys with 20% and 15% post some photos so i can see what they look like? THANKS ahead of time!:D

and not to be mean but PLEASE don’t comment about tint law. i know what it is. and i don’t care!! i know some people that prob would not mind at all sighing it off.

I got 20% in the front and it is almost perfect matching the rear. I'd take a picture, but it's night time and you really cant tell as well as during the day..

yeah i know 20 matches almost perfect. idk if i want to match or go darker all the way around.

and i’m going to do a 30 or 35 strip on the windshield. i want it darker that the factory stuff is but still be able to see thru the top few inches if i need to.

If you want to go darker, then do 15% all around.

I just went with the match route save money and still have it dark. But not too dark to a point where I'll be getting citations left and right.

yeah. thats what im thinking. but i still want it hard to see in. and keep the truck cooler in the summer. i also don’t want citation left and right. every no and thin would be OK. i could have someone sigh it off. i know quite a few cops around hear. lol

and did you notice that when you got you’r front matched did the back seam a bit darker or no?

I went with 15% in front. It's just a TOUCH darker. This is the best pic I have right now, and it makes it look a little darker than it actually is. I honestly thought 15% matched almost perfectly.

This one makes it look like the front is lighter than the back...

It's about the same for the rear, it will appear to be darker in the rear because the front is matching. I like it a lot.. Actually got it done today, almost thought I was gonna get pulled over while passing a officer on a motorcycle after I got it done, he looked at me but kept on going his way. So I think I passed the tint gantlet... hopefully.. knock on wood..

I usually have to roll my windows down when backing out at night if it's somewhere I'm not really really familiar with.

15 is pretty f*ing dark. If you aren't in a well lit area you'll have to roll your windows down at night to see out.

    that accurately looks good.

just wondering. if i wanted the back 15. would they just do a light tint over the factory to make it 15? or take 15 tint film and but that over that factory? seams like that would make it way darker than 15%.

ha. thats kinda funny. i lol when people get nervous around cops. you stay cool and don’t act like you’r hiding something you are less likely to get pulled over.
my only concern is my drive way. thats about the only place i park that is not well lit. but the way i usually park i have a straight shot down the drive way. :D

What I was worried about, was wasting 70$ to get tint on that i barley had on for 20 minutes. :(

Prob the same, i don't know whats the law in Louisiana exactly. I know in LA they don't care about how dark the rear windows are if you are driving a truck or an SUV.

I went with 15% on the front windows, came out just a hair darker then the rear windows. My fix to that was I went back and got my back window done in 5% which darkened up the rear windows a ton and made it almost match the 15%. From the inside you can kinda tell the rear windows are a little lighter but not by much.

only pic I have that shows the tint how it really is, just excuse the bike, haha.

I have 20% and it matches great from the outside. On the inside however, I can tell the difference in the tint between the back seats and front seats. Since the tint is applied to the front windows and not in the privacy glass like it is in the back and rear windows, it is darker in the front from the cabin. Has anyone else noticed this?

It is kind of annoying, I am still considering adding a layer of 20% to the back and rear windows just so it is the same level of darkness in the cab.

Hope that helps - either way, whatever you get it will look great! I would never drive a vehicle without tint.

oh cool. and wouldn't 5 be dark as hell? i thought it was the the higher the number the lighter the tint? BTW it looks good! and i like the bike so i wont excuse it. lol. my mountain bike is a blue. in a way i wish i would have got the SWB but i got silver. i have only seen 2 SWB’s at a dealer. and one the road. so i think it would have taken for ever to find one that was not new. and silver was my 2nd pick.:D and you can’t really bead a ’07 with just under 25k when i got it.
