Tacoma owners manners on the road

I have noticed, more often than not, that Taco owners are cool to one another on the roads. I live in Cali, which is the absolute WORST effin drivers in the US, we're rude, mean and dangerous. If you've never driven these freeways, you have no idea how insane we are. To all you folks from the midwest and south, it would offend your God-fearin sensibilities! All ya'll out there generally drive the speed limits and interstate truckers and such actually obey the laws. Not here...nope, we like speed and can't fuckin WAIT to put you're life in danger with some nutty maneuver.
Anyways, I digress, my point was that when I'm signalling for a lane change, it's usually the other Taco guy that will let me in and vice versa. If you are rude in a Beemer with no signal on, you can suck on my tailpipe beotch!
I was stuck in traffic the other day and bored to tears and I see a really nice lifted second gen like mine and he ends up in front of me, i could see in his mirror he was looking at the truck. I was so friggin bored that I sometimes do the NASCAR thing, you know, going side to side in your lane to clean off the tires before a re-start? So dude ahead of starts to do it too and we're both laughing.
I have also noticed that us Taco guys check out each other's trucks on the roads too, though I will say that I see more second gen guys do that than first gen guys, IDK, maybe the first gen guys are envious and don't want to show it? When I see a truck I like I will usually give the"waggle", it's the "hang loose" with a wiggle.
And I usually tell other taco owners I meet in person about TW, the more the merrier!

 

idk why but you’r post made me laugh. i too can be an A$$hole driver. but i try not to be. and i to have noticed that other taco’s go out of there way to let me over than other cars. lol. i always look at other tacos to see if they have anything done to them. and i wave. and maybe we will be getting more member from my area. i just got my TW.COM sticker and put it on.

 

this is true.. i always let people with tacomas cross lanes if needed or if they are waiting in line i let them go. when i was in pismo on the 4th of july i saw a fully LT taco and didnt even know the guy and we have each other a wave when we passed. its nice having super chill people with the same interests as you. also what site does actual meet and greets? none that i know of. all the ranger forms seem like either you're with them or not. it depends on how much your truck is built, not how much you actually like the truck

 

People always let me change lanes; they're so nice but then I am doing 13 mph.

 

Around here, the Tacomas are owned mostly by retirees. The older guys that like their trucks, but don't want something as big as a Ford or Chevy.

They're more laid back in their driving habits. Definitely not the arsehole type.

Really? I figured you'd see a fair amount on the islands being it's a Japanese truck in all, there are TONS of them here in Cali, most folks are oblivious to everyone anyways, but you can tell when you see a modded truck that some one really loves their rig

 

i’m kinda the same but i will put some on. but just certain things. and stuff that fits me. no stupid point less stuff. and not allot. it dives me nuts when i see and car just covered in stickers!! i just want to ask the person WTF wear/ are you thinking with all those on there. lol

 

Weel back in the day when I was your age I learned a valuable lesson with bumper stickers, if you don't want to attract a lot of attention (like cops), don't put a ton of stickers on your rig.

 

hahahahahahhahahaha. funny you say that. TN just pasted this dumbass law that any “offensive” bumper sticker you can get a ticket for it. LMAO. and if you disagree you can fight it in court and let the judge decide. it’s so dumb and point less, and well can’t be enforced very well. i want to find a bunch of magnet one that i know would be “offensive” and put them all over my tail gate just to piss people off. and the court. lol

 

Uh yeah, that is a stupid law, and at 19, all I wanted to do was offend people!

 

I know, let's have a hand signal known only to TW members, kind of a visual cue like in Fight Club, something we can do with one hand and can be seen across an intersection.

 

yeah it is! and im not really like that. i don’t try too. but if i do offend people i don’t tend to care much. and i only want to do it just because it’s a stupid law. that they could be using tax dollars for better and more useful laws.

 

I laughed at the OPs post because coming from NY to NC I have come to absolutely hate driving because the majority of people here are in no hurry to get to their destination(I've learned that 45 in a 55 is the norm in many places) so the part about people from the South really made me laugh. I was back in NY a couple weeks ago and as odd as it sounds driving was enjoyable again. To most here I am probably the biggest asshole driver but I'm just a product of the environment in which I was raised and drove in for most of my life. I always joke with my wife and say I would love to drop some of these people in midtown Manhattan and tell them they need to get to the tunnel in x amount of time without losing their minds.
I do find myself more courteous to other Tacoma drivers, especially modded out Tacos but in general I'm just a dickhead behind the wheel.

I try to give the shaka to most all taco owners. Only the modded ones seem to appreciate it though. Everyone else kind looks at me like "wtf is he wavin' at?" "A" for effort anyway. Just trying to show my appreciation for their truck.

 

I get no respect in the Tacoma. Babytruck is little and all the big trucks weasel their way in front of me without signaling. I would let them in anyway if I knew they wanted in! But nooOOooOOoo. They have to FORCE their way in and scare me because I'm afraid to get hit.

 

Yep, I've lived in both Washington and Oregon and the worst drivers on the road have Calif plates...just like you mentioned they're always speeding and rude.

 

I lived in san diego for 3 years. the drivers there dont even begin to compare to mass/CT drivers. talk about assholes

 

BMW owners must be the exact opposite of the Tacoma owners. We were just in Chicago a few weeks ago. If you own a BMW there, you are required to drive like a phucktard.
