No problem. Just want you guys to have a safe and fun-filled day out there. I figure I would give a little insight as to what to expect. It never hurts to challenge yourself and your rig. If it wasn't for the HAM cram locally, I would be with you guys on my 31"s, lol...j/k. I actually bought a new set of KM2s just for this trip but it looks like I'm going have to wait for another time to break'em in.

I have a plug kit and onboard air, so just don't slice a tyre wide open and you'll be fine;)

I'm thinking we can take This Route down to Long Canyon trail Sunday morning noting over 6000ft so the roads should be clear. Then we can run Long Canyon and head home Sunday afternoon.

I don't think you'll have any problems. EDNF updated their road status page today (http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/eldorado/conditions/roads/index.shtml) and everything you'll be hitting should be open. Ice House Rd is open pretty much year round. It's plowed intermittently because SMUD has to have access to the lakes out there all year long.

I don't think I can make it Sunday for Long Canyon Trl :( because I've got to keep going on getting firewood cut. I'm not even halfway done yet. I took today and tomorrow off to do it, then noticed issues with the chain saw, so it's getting worked on until Friday. So instead of going back to work, we've been hiking. Upper Glen Alpine Falls today, Echo Lakes tomorrow.

And I'm not sure if you guys will have time to drive all that way over to 50 and still have time for Long Canyon??? No idea since I've never gone that way. I know just getting to Loon Lake from here (all paved roads) is about 2 hours. So it may take you 3 or 4 hours from Hell Hole. Again, just guessing as I have no idea. If you get all the way over to Union Valley and don't think you'll have time to run the trail, you guys could always take a short hike out to Bassi Falls.
