Satoshi Whole front end.

I bought all the material needed but I need some more guidance from you guys. I understand how to do the main part of the grill. But what do I have to do and or cut to replace the triangles and lower bumper grill?

 

Never seen it done, I only did the grille.

 

well technically its not a satoshi whole front end. But I know people have replaced the lower bumper with a grill and I was seeing if and how they did it.

 

for lower grille, same thing.. cut out the crossmembers and sand/paint and put mesh behind...... for triangle, what i did was cut it from the back... and carefully continue to cut/sand till it took shape/form of the triangle.

Thanks I appreciate it. Now real quick. Im assuming the lower grill crossmember is solid so when I cut it there wont be a hole or cutout I have to fill in?

 

for the most part, yes its solid.. for the few and small portion that i had to fill in, i just added epoxy and waited for it to completely dry, then sand it down the side will need some bondo, kuz the hole was pretty big

I will dont worry. It will probably be about a month till I get all the parts and time to finish it. But Ill post

 

I did my grille, triangles, and lower bumper grille. The lil triangles were the hardest part but it came out nice. Ill see if I can find a pic to post.

 

Has anyone powder coated their satoshi grill material? Or did you all spray paint it? I just spray painted mine but IDK if Im satisfied with they way it looks? Any ideas???

Triangles are a PITA.
Don't recall seeing a good write-up on the Triangles

I just cut mesh to fit the lower grill
Put trim around it.
Pressure fit it, in front of the cross members.
With a few black cable ties for good measure.











Considerable work, but worth the effort.

I'm in the process of doin my lower right now, i just cut the metal and dropped it off the powder coaters a few minutes ago. I did the main grill and had i PC'ed. It turned out reallt good, i tried clearcoating the metal at first just to see if i liked the silver bare metal look but the bugs and rocks that i hit doin 80 put scratches in it and it began to rust so i sandblasted it.
