Fumoto Differential Valve

Does anyone know if there is anything like the Fumoto valve for the differential?

 

hmmm that would be the dumbest thing you could possibly do

I recently made a custom oil pan for my truck, so I had the oil pan off. I also had one of these Fumoto valves. The way the valve is designed and the amount of threads projection into the oil pan, retains a fair amount of oil in the pan.

So, you think you have drained the old oil out, but you actually may have 1/2 cup still in the sump.

 

easier and cleaner with a Pela extractor from the top,
then you can open your drain plug if you really wanted and drain the last 2 drops that's left and no mess
as well as use the extractor on the filter housing as you unscrew it, never have to mess with the filter housing bottom plug, and not one drop overspill on that flange...

 

The Fumoto valve scares me. Why make it to where some scum bag doesn't even need tools to get under your truck and drain some fluid just for the hell of it? These trucks (especially when lifted) are an easy target.

residual particles? hmmm they are in your filter already

 

I know...you could probably even do it with a jack knife. At least with the oem drain bolt you'd have to use the right size socket/wrench. I'm not saying it could never happen with the bolt...just sayin it wouldn't be as easy. In a qiuck get underneth and dash scenario they'd be looking at a longer time spent underneth removing the drain bolt than opening up the valve.

 

I don't do any off-roading and i have a pre-runner so it's fairly high off the ground, so I don't have any ground clearance problems. but the more i think about it, i don't think it's as routine as an oil change, so i don't think i want to any more.
