Drove past your house the other day and saw that! Looks good!

 

I would recommend mounting the tire on the passenger side for better weight distribution (especially if a 33-35" spare is mounted there.)

It looks awesome.

 

looks bad ass for sure! since its a 1" clearance over the cab, the rack is mounted to the bed, and the bed and cab are mounted separately on the frame, do you think there would be contact when the frame flexes?

 

that's what i'm worried about. our beds and cabs move a lot realative to each other. curious to see how it acts at speed with some gear up there

 

Coulnt you just put like a 1/2" nub on the front and sides with a soft but strong rubber piece on the bottom so if if does flex it'll just hit the rubber?

 

Looks amazing. Any wind noise at highway speeds?

 

that would prevent scratching, but then your going to dent the roof.

who knows though, it may not even touch, we're just voicing our concerns. good to get feedback when you're building a new product.

good point but this is goin on a wheeling and hunting rig, more for camping gear and maybe a few dead animals lol

I was concerned about that as well, so while I was at a friend of mines shop we flexed the truck out with his fork lift both front and rear and the closest it got was about 3/4 of an inch. so I think we'll be ok . Your point is very valid and a good question.

Thanks man, when it was just all tack welded together I had to drive across town ( all freeway 70mph) and holy shit it was noisy, but when it was all welded and back on the truck what a difference, all the wind noise went away.
