Earlier today the alarm/remote lock was working just fine. An hour and a half ago I went to move it into the driveway and I couldn't lock the door or turn on the alarm!! I opened the door and tried to use the lock button from inside and I couldn't do it from either door. Tried the spare set and nothing.

    Figured it was the fuse...

Took it in, they changed the fuse but the new one blew. They changed it again and it keeps blowing fuses!!

They have to call someone in to find out what's wrong....[IMG]

So now I'm in some kind of Mazda something or other van type thing.

What do you suppose is causing this??

What do you think would cause a short? I parked the car in the street, set the alarm. I went out to move it into the driveway - unlocked the car with remote, put it in the driveway and tried to lock it with the remote. Didn't work. Why would it suddenly not work? Not wet outside or anything. I didn't touch anything or even turn on the radio.

Lose wire, wire with no insulation (rubbed off), a faulty circuit board, it could be anything.

Toyota had it installed. It was installed before I took delivery of the vehicle. So yes? But I'm guessing they are going to take care of it, warranty wise?

Those Jokers are gonna have to check every wire on the circuit that's blowing the fuse, it's detailed pain in the ass work. Make sure to stay on their asses for that one, my guess is that a resistor blew out somewhere or somebody screwed up the alarm install.

You guys are messed up. [IMG]

I have no idea how long I'm going to have it...I just really hope they can find the problem without having to tear up all the wiring.

They had a Chevy truck at the rental place. I asked for that with the reasoning that "I turned in a truck, I'd like a truck". But they said that would be out of pocket for me to have that. So I said "Okay, I get what I get". So what did I get?
