I'm about ready to pull the trigger on those Rancho 9000 shocks that are for sale here in the forum. They're part of the Rancho Quick-lifts, anyone heard anything bad about em? I heard the shocks aren't the best, but I'm sure for what little I actually get off road, they'd be fine right? They're not adjustable height, but they are adjustable ride and the backs have resis.

Dang! I have to work straight thru the weekend, I live in Concord. Rats, I would love to help but I got a huge bunch of work to get done, I just committed my weekend to a client for a bunch of extra work (gotta pay for the CO's!). Besides I was gonna order the CO's tomorrow to get here by the end of the month. I already did the rear lift at Seth's mod day.
Dude, seriously thanks though, it's things like this offer to trade and help which is why I love TW!

Lemme rephrase, these come with the coils. I just don't want to continue to compress my springs. I'm pretty sure they're taking some damage from the spacers I have.

No problemo. I'm sure I'll be in my garage the next few weekends as well. Get them coilovers ordered and we can knock em out anytime. Air tools make quick work of suspension components.

Unless you're hucking you truck, spacers are not going to damage your truck. I ran spacers on my Tundra for 4 years without issue and changed up to 5100s recently. There's really no difference in 5100's or spacers in terms of lifting your truck. They both use the stock spring and both preload the spring to achieve lift. The difference is the 5100 SHOCKS are designed for lifted applications (whereas factory shocks are not).

As for Ranchos, they are better than spacers. But I'd take the Billy's anyday over the Ranchos.

    EDITED:

K, I just discovered the Ranchos do the same thing the Billys do. Scratch the Ranchos. I don't want to preload the damn springs. Looks like I may just go OME.

take me off for doing synthetics. Me and Eric are going to do them at my place sometime before so we can help out more at mod day, since it looks like its stuffed.

However I might need some exhaust help.
I was quoted the cheapest for $130. But im going to order some parts from Summit. (2.25 to 2.5 reducer $5 and some turn downs $10) and hopefully we can work it out. Might need some welding.

Whats wrong with OME? For the best bang for the buck you can't beat it IMO. I don't think they are stiff, firm but not stiff. People who think they are stiff usually don't have right spring for the right application. I was iffy on the ride too, as I have heard they were stiff but they are fine for me. Running 885/895 springs with nitrosport shocks. I will be upgrading to Kings or Radflo eventually tho. Just not suited for speed offroad but I wheel in turtle mode, so its fine for me.

The radflos are on sale right now too :) Its tempting. I feel like runnin up the plastic lately.... I don't think I know what I want at this point, but I"m tired of the spacers and I'm not going to 'waste' money just to find out I don't like the ride. I think I definitely want to push myself all the way up to 3" though, I'm tired of rubbing when I pull into parking lots.

You know...you can get King's or Icon's for that price from DSM with the TW discount. Just throwing it out there....

EDIT: I was referring to the price for the 2.5" shock bodies.

    Rubbing on what?

If you want 3", you really only have CO as a option. OME depending on spring and front end weight gives you about 2 1/2" lift in front. I can tell I am sitting about a 1/2" lower than those with 3" lift with CO. I am running KM2's as well and don't rub at all. Maybe backspacing of wheel is off.

With so many diff lifts at this mod day, why dont you test drive some of our rigs so you can see how each kind of lifts ride

    Probably a good idea.

I'm rubbing on the cab mount, which makes me think my springs are taking a beating, since I rarely rubbed when the tires were brand new, and now I have about 50k miles on em, about half tread left, you'd think I wouldn't be rubbing at all. My wheels are 4.5 BS. I've had her off road a few times and I definitely never pussy footed it.

That's a good idea. I'm local if you wanna drive my rig as well. We can go wheel at Prairie City SVRA. Not the most challenging place but will give you a feel for offroad performance. Hey thanks MJ, Sherman hooked me up.
