I wouldnt even need to upgrade to the newer year ones, my 08 is perfectly fine lol. I dont need an aux port built in because i have a new head unit. The only thing i like on the newer ones is the steering wheel which im fine with mine now also. i just want a 6 speed man pedal in my truck though: ( anyone want to trade?! haha

Wouldn't that just SUCK for you if the truck is changed in 2012 and looks like a POS but there are no 2011s left with the colour/options you want?

Denial? Seriously? Possibly to a minor degree if it has a more fuel efficient V6 but how much better than can it get? If I wanted more horses I'd have bought a full size.

I just paid $8000 less (after tax) than new at the dealer for same truck with 6700 miles. 2012 would have to be some piece of work to justify that difference.

That said, I hope your wait pays off and the 2012 floats your boat.

To each there own. The 2011 is amazing and makes it hard to wait until 2012. With the truck looking great, I would hate for it to look too yuppieish. I don't think that will happen but I'm still knocking on wood. I am waiting but you sir got a great deal on a great truck. Lets not get too defensive here guys we all buy our own trucks and no matter what year...the TACO will still pull out the Hummer.

well thanks, I hope it does pay off, but the set up that I want, I am confident there will be some that the dealer can order for me from existing inventory after I see what the 2012 will be all about, so I'll be fine either way. I love everything about the 2011, but the headlights really havent changed at all since the second gen came out and I would like to see them updated to be a bit more aggressive. I would like to see them before I pull the trigger.

take my comment that you responded as tongue in cheek I guess. I dont spend time on fan sites for the Twilight movies telling everyone I dont like themovies. I just dont see why people basically gotta get angry at the idea of an update in a product or even how much they dislike a product or even a movie. classic examples are the superhero movies and Michael Bay's movies. If you dont like the movies...dont see them. Just cause a few people dont like, or even adamately hate a movie/product, isnt gonna stop...or even phase me. Everytime I read a comment that shows a person is really pissed or being nasty aboutsomething, I just think to myself… ”great…why are you here then? Don’t you have something that your actually interested in? What are you trying to accomplish by telling the world this?”

Just gonna say this now about your second paragraph, i love spiderman, but most of the movies did suck balls haha.

Anyways, I'm same as you though, I'm keeping my 07 till the 3rd gens come out in a year and a half, I could afford a 2011 now but meh, couldn't really care less either

Two great things supposedly comming July 29th...This mythical meeting:spy::gossip::spy:, and Cowboys and Aliens:quickdraw::alien:(http://www.cowboysandaliensmovie.com/). Hope one of them is not a total let down. Of course if he meant to say June 29th, that is when the Toyota national dealer meeting was when we got that big chunk of info last time...I guess my money is on Cowboys and Aliens.

I think the guy on this site misspoke and meant June 29th. Considering info has already been released on the other 2012 Toyota products I don't think there will be any changes worth caring about. With the current design still selling well and no new competitors I doubt Toyota will put money into any big changes when a true redesign is on the horizon....just my $.02 on this.

So when is a "true redesign" comming? Do you know something we don't? Is there any factual hard core proof that a full redesign is comming; because all I have heard or seen is crapy misspelled articles and speculation by anybody but Toyota.

Just curious and wondering if you got more useful speculation than we have so far. If so, I'd love to here it...It's all driving me crazy anyway. I do think that the article I referenced was the guy mispeaking too unfortunatly. I do think the changes sound good but we will see what happens.

When I talked to the toyota district manager at the midwest regional sales office that gave me all the info on the 2012, he said a complete redesign was still a few years out but there was no concrete information available whatsoever.

I hope so as well, as I'm planning on buying the 2012, however I'm not sure how long I'll wait after they come out. Really depends upon the job situation as I almost have my first gen paid off.

Seriously man, I do genuinely hope you get what you're looking for in the 2012 (or whatever you ultimately buy). Waiting is a personal choice - no "right" or "wrong" (...sounds like a planned parenthood ad....). I realize that there's the possibility that I will like the 2012 better than the 2011 and will admit as much. But I'm pretty confident I'm not, nor will be, in denial.

Put simply, I saw a fine deal on a truck I liked and bought it. Period.

not sure if this has been posted here, probably has - if so, sorry for the redundancy:

    http://www.carsession.com/car-news/2012-toyota-hilux-facelift.html

this is pretty much what toyota is supposed to do to the 2012 Tacoma - sheet metal, engine update.

Looks like Nissan frontier and Toyota 4 Runner spent a night together......

too squared off and boxy for my tastes.
