"South California" to be 51st state?

If they did split, I understand naming the northern part 'California'. I don't know what they would call the southern part, considering 'New Mexico' is already taken.

 

i think the chinese will be chosing the names.

Chinese built the west and the railroads for whitey, so it would not be inappropriate. And the Mexicans owned it before us, after they took it form the Native Americans. In fact, the Russians actually owned part of Nor cal at one time.

So we should probably aim for something like

I actually like the idea.....but it would never happen. But if they could somehow make it work without having to create a 51st state, I'm all for it. Two states within a state, but it would be too complicated trying to figure out who would control what, and law complications, so on and so on.
