    Going to step down (or up) to a more DD friendly Hankook Dynapro ATm RF10s. In order to help soften the hit of the new tires to my check, I need some help deciding how much 4 285/75/16 BFG MTs @ 65% life are worth? :confused:

    A few bolts are different.
    We should trade. I have 4 Nitto TG's (285's) with about 65% left.

    A better pic could help...

    I would but I really want to go with 265/75/16s.
    I"m going to kill the spacers that came on the truck and go with Billy 5100s for a good DD with weekend fun! ;)

    Make/model tire=x
    Mileage= y-2+4
    Size= 3/4 -2 <56.6
    average US market value 45.3/54.76% (by volume)

    x+y /Z= 465.34

    Pie squared to the next 10th = 45.1

    Final cost...
    $181.83

    Well that goes without saying...:p

    OP I will stop being a smart ass now (don't blink or you may miss it) and give you a starting point. Find out how much you could buy 4 news ones for, at the cheapest place you can find. Then divide that number in half. Then take another $200 from that.

    Example:

    Cheapest place you can find the tires new is $800 with tax. Do not include mounting and balancing, just the price of 4 new tires with tax but if you buy online, add the shipping. Again figure out which is the cheapest place to buy from.

    So again lets say the cheapest is at store X. The price is $800 for 4 new ones, with tax. Divide that in half because they're used.. Gives you $400... Subtract $200 from that and you get $200. You subtract $200 because somebody has to pay about 100 bucks for mounting and balancing. You subtract the another hundred because nobody is going to pay half what they cost new anyway.

    I sold my brand new factory Tacoma wheels with 100 miles on them (245/75/16's) and the tires for $500 on Craigslist.

    I don't buy used tires but if I did (LOL sounds like that beer commercial) I wouldn't pay over about 30 bucks a tire (if that) for tires half gone. Unless they were like huge MT's, like Mud Grapplers or Swampers. Have to keep in mind somebodies gotta pay about 100 bucks to have those half shot tires mounted and balanced too. So now you're like at 300 bucks for half shot tires/mount/balance. For a couple hundred more, somebody could just get new crappy tires, with a warranty.

    Sold my BFGs on CL for $350 easy, I seriously had 8 calls and 5 texts within 5hours of posting...makes me slap myself for not starting at $450 :facepalm:

    Talked the manager at the local discount tire down to $499.99 out the door for the Hankooks with warranty, lifetime mount and balance, etc.

    While although your formula may work in some markets I based my pricing by performing a competitor analysis on Craigslist and it works everytime :cool:

    Thanks :D

    Shit!! I forgot to subtract the square root of X.

    That's why I was off, otherwise my formula works awesome.
