Well here is my dilemma. I currently have a 2007 DC TRD Off-Road with roughly 10,000 miles on it. I really no longer have the use for the double cab and would prefer going back to an access cab for the longer bed. (I considered a DC longbed, but due to space constraints it's not a good option) Dealer will give me around 22,000 on my current truck. (It's paid for) which is a good amount after looking at Kelley and Edmunds. He will sell me a 2009 TRD Sport Access Cab for 26,500 (including rebate and taxes etc). Would you do it???

I am kinda interested in seeing what he new deals are after Feb 2nd.

Another thing I have noticed that double cabs keep their value much better. Buying a double cab will cost you roughly 1,000 more than an Access, but valuewise the DC has about a 3,000 better value.

I just purchased my 08 Access cab prerunner SR5 for $18,000. It had been sitting on the lot for a while and I asked the GM, who I know pretty well, why it hadn't sold. He told me most people are wanting the double cab and shy away from the access cab. It only had 11,000 miles on it and I thought it was one heck of a deal.

I guess my point is that most people want the 4 doors for kids and such. My kid is grown, so I wanted the extra bed length with room to spare in my garage, same as you. I don't think you can go worng with any Taco.

That's what the bed is for anyway.. A nice secluded back road in the middle of the woods, birds chirping, leaves rustling in the cool breeze.... Wait, maybe this was a personal experience but the bed works nicely too.

I say if you don't have kids or if you have another vehicle that you can cart them around in then go with the access cab. I just think it looks better.

do you actually use the bed on a regular basis? If your use is once a month, then I'd keep the DC. I've wished for a longer bed too a few times since I bought the truck, but not enough for me to want to go trade it in.

but, if you got the cash laying around... might as well go for it.

I would get it in writing about what he's offered you for your trade in, I've read some posts where guys are promised one thing and it's significantly lower when they show up on the lot.

If you really want the 2009 TRD Sport Access Cab, and the dealer will give you (not around $22k, but actually $22k) for your 2007 DC TRD Off-Road with roughly 10,000 miles on it, I say got for it. Get it in writting though, I can't imagine a dealer giving anybody that amount on a trade-in, just doesn't happen. I mean hell, he won't be able to turn around and sell it on his lot for $21,000. Much less I would think?

I am on board some of the other posters, get it in writing. $22K for trade seems a little to good to be true. He might be trying to bait you to come back. What dealer in Wisconsin?

You're not trying hard enough. Let me tell you. That TRD OR Suspension is a perfect fuck platform. Nice and stable with little rocking.

Second, when you fold down those back seats it makes a perfect christening pad. Just be sure to have a sleeping bag handy. ;P
