    When I first started looking at Tacomas I wanted the double cab. But then I quickly realized that they are EXPENSIVE. The access cab is has enough room if you need to squeeze an adult in there for a quick ride. Or just use it as a dog seat/storage

    You picked a great year! I've got a 07 radiant red double cab with almost 17,000 miles so far. There's not really much to look out for. If you going to do your own oil changes read the "how to" here...some people have drained their trannsmission by mistake. Also, if you experience any bottoming out with a load in the bed or axle wrap you might concider getting a aal in the rear. Other than that...enjoy your new ride!!!:)

    Thanks for the warning on the springs. I didn't even pay attention when I went to look at it. Does the '07 have the backup camera? I'm trying to figure out what has been added on to the newer models

    '07 was a good year for the Tacoma. My first one was an '07 Double Cab TRD Sport and I absolutely loved it. Traded it in for an Xterra thinking I wouldn't need/want a truck in downtown Orlando. Owned it for about 6 months and I got tired of not being in a Toyota. Picked up my 2011 DC last week and I've been ecstatic ever since.

    Not hard. But it was the first mechanical thing I had ever done on a vehicle, and my truck comes with a Skid plate so my oil drain was hidden.

    Hijinks ensued.

    Now my truck is as it is after I learned to DIY.

    It's not that difficult, but it is possible to fuck things up. When pulling your drain plug, make sure it is the one attached to the tiny, black oil pan...not the one attached to the huge black oil pan on the aluminum transmission housing.

    I always read the "accidentally drained my tranny" threads and wondered WTF? Then I got rid of my PreRunner 6-speed for the 4X4 automatic. First time I crawled under the new truck I said, "Oh....that's how it happened!"

    Congrats, Mitch ~ That's a really nice truck! I've got a stock red (Barcelona) AC as well but yours has the back seat that I wanted. Mine is two separate seats with a console in the middle. And mine is stick. I have no problems with the manual tranny at all yet.

    It's such a fun little truck to drive. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
