OMG you too?? LOL! Actually I didn't open the tailgate, I just climbed into the back and I KNEW it was too short once I sat down in it.

Long beds make for nice even tans. :)

So I see that no one has listed the sizes of the two beds on this thread.

    I honestly don't know.

With the 2011 Access Cab the short bed is exactly 72" or 6 foot. Which is what I got because I sleep in the back under my topper with my girlfriend at trailheads and certain campsites.

I have no idea what the long bed is in terms of length.

Personally, I can't stand the look of the double cabs with that short bed on it. It look much more puny then my access cab. So if you are doing double cab, then for sure get at least the 6' bed.

    Short bed is 5'
    Longbed is 6'

All access cabs are the 6' bed

I bought the double cab shorty because I live in the city and parking space is a concern (I made the right choice). If I had a second car for commuting I definitely would have bought the double cab longbed because the extra space would make my camping trips that much easier. But I have no real complaints on my shortbed.

Good point, I have spent a lot of nights slipping on my topper as I trained for AT.
