that was interesting...lol hi-lift saved are ass on that one....and with the 4runner when he slid into the tree while you were flexing o n that big ass rock...we jacked him up and intentionally pushed it over which brought him away from the tree you have to be careful but there unreplacable

My hi lift scares the shit out of me. I'm a 60 ton, certified crane operator at work and my hi lift scares me more than lifting 120,000 lbs.

 

ya im scared of high lifts as well... as you can see

 

i just bought a hi lift today...yall are makin me nervous.

 

x2 And the only place I can use mine is the rear which is straight up on the bumper so thats almost a fail too. I can just see my bumper ripping off mid lift and tearing the SHIT out of the rear end

problem number 3: its a ranger, the taco wouldnt have broken haha jk i have a few buds with rangers and theyre nice when they are all LTd

Just used mine for the first time after reading enough of this thread. I figured it's best to learn it at home instead of out there on the trail. I just did a simple jacking up and down using my stock bumper (the steal part that connects to the frame.) All went very well. Now I need some sliders!

 

When I did my rear LT install, we used a hi lift and put it in the trailer hitch hole. You definitly want at least 2 people..one to jack it up and one to stop the truck from swaying side to side. It almost slid over on us once, but once it was up, we just put it on jack stands.

 

First hi lift attempt off my bumper. Success

 

First time I ever used mine, I set it under the trailer hitch and went from there. Got the truck about 6" off the ground and then realized it wouldn't go back down. So I began the laborious process of stacking bricks up to rescue myself using the stock jack.

Have since lifted several trailers (flatbeds and a 7-horse) with it with no problems. Not sure what the deal is; think I'm just lifting it with the jack non-centered.

It's definitely something to be careful using. I was scared shitless the entire time. Right now I can only use the bullbar mount and the trailer hitch to lift anyway, at least until I get some sliders. I like how you can also use it as a poor man's winch, though.

 

I got a set of these before I had sliders and a bumper. They worked fine for lifting a corner up, but if you're changing a flat you'll need to bring a jack-stand along too. Thye can alos be a little tricky trying to set them if the wheel spoke saren't lined up where you need them.

And on stock wheels, watch out you don't push the Hilift into the fender flare.
