Welcome back, Moved into a fifty five & over community 8 years ago. They do all the yard work, snow shoveling, etc. The association is the only drawback, but they aren't that bad.

Dont start sitting around doing nothing you will fall apart faster then if you are out doing something. I work at my own pace in the yard and cleaning the taco. Like to keep busy but cant go to fast anymore in the summer heat.We do alot in the fall getting the dogs ready to field trial and hunting. Back to the yard work before it gets too hot. Jim

Take lots of water breaks. ;)

I plan on putting the final touches on a paver pad in front of my old shed tomorrow. Then that project is finished. Next week it will be building a second shed.

This Sunday another member is coming over and we will polish and wax his truck.

    I like to stay busy.

I don't normally sit around, but had rotator cuff surgery in June and can only do so much with the bad arm. Son-in-law starting on our deck so I'll be givin" him a hand ( thats all I can give him is a Hand).
Drink plenty of water on these hot days and start early or late afternoon. Take care.

Hey Jim, I generally do most of the construction work and she "supervises". Same scenario though. In our old house she always put in gardens and when she didn't weed them, I just mowed it all, easier than weeding!! If she wanted something done and I didn't feel like doin' it, I told her it was against all building codes. Worked for a while til she talked to a builder. S#*t hit the fan then!!
Noticed you were on the river boats in Nam. I thank you for your service over there. I joined and ended up with all east coast duty stations and a 6 month Med cruise. My hat is off to all of our boys that were over in Nam. Knew two River Rats, one from work who was active with the patrol boat organization, Tom Forrest. the other fella is Gary Ward who had one shot out from under him. What a hell hole over there.

Yes the building code worked for some time but now the city has all that on line, She looks it up herself prints it out and puts it on the bar so cant use that anymore.. I got the deep blue out of boot camp, Bonny Dick (CVA 31) had to get off that thing. Got lucky out of boat school when I got sent to Da nang (I core) most of the meat grinder was in the Mecong (4 core). Had one boat shot up in Hue tet 68 only gun to gun crap I got into. Boobie traps were the thing we had to watch out for. In 26 mo. I lost 4 snipes and bow hooks to traps and never got a band aid. One of my pals John Bergan from NY was the only one to live after a RPG hit near the Rock pile on the DMZ he got put on my boat. I knew we were going home OK with that much luck on one boat. I for one am dam glad I got to go over I still smile to this day when I SEE THE RED WHITE & BLUE SLAPPING THE WIND. Jim

    Jim:
Where in DaNang were you stationed? I was on the north end of MAG 16 just south of the China Beach PX. I was there in 70-71.

I was also an Army Puke.

    Jim:
Camp Tien Sha was in my area. I worked on all the phones from Monkey mountian to Marble mountain. The central office was in Tien Sha and installed by the Navy, taken over by the Air Force and then given to the Army.

Tien sha was the worst navy base in Da nang it was the the only one by the PBR docks so it took a long time to get a good rack somewhere else. I tried to get over on the other side of the river by the white elephant but my E8 said too far from the boats. Did you get over to hill 327 (the big M.C. base)? Jim
