You need to get a plastic adhesion primer first. Put 3 light coats 1st with plenty of drying time. Then you can paint the color of your choice!

Why is blacking out a vehicle referred to as "murdered out"?

Murdered out really means painting everything flat black, people just use both for the meaning.

i just got done blacking out my whole truck, including new paint job (someone keyed it) magic eraser on the fender flares to go back to original look (awesome) new grill and corner lights from partsgeek.com (like 40 bucks shipped and got them in 3 days) and painted from and back bumpers that were chrome by sanding with 300 grit prime, paint (factory black) and then clear coat... it looks awesome and not that hard to do

    ...too much shit to list.
I rattlecanned mine with whatever the hell I had in the garage. I think it was Rustolium satin black.

Over time it will get little nicks and small specks of chrome start to shine through. I ended up just buying a new (black) grill from fleabay for $65. Still in the box for now.

x2, do it right. Krylon fusion works well for plastic parts.
