When did you call? I ordered these last week. Did you call a store around your area?

I did, i called one in Massachusetts (this past Thursday 6/2/11) and the guy said that he only saw a single unit and it was in Tennessee or something. Maybe i just got the new guy, i suppose it can't hurt to try and order them now anyway.

The Rep I talked to said there was only 2 in Texas but he was able to place an order with the manufacture in Ohio. They can also ship the item to your house. Call this store if you can't get your store to help you. FYI Shipping was $7 for 10 slotted nuts.

I just got the T-nuts from my local Fastenal shop- (had be be shipped to them, and there were only a few in stock across the country he said)
They fit good, and the many potential uses these will offer... I can't wait to find my first use for them. :)

PJS I'm sure you do know that posting in this thread legally binds you and that from now on you must post pictures of whatever use you come up with for your T-Nuts.

Gotcha- I was already looking a steel and aluminum stock today to get ideas for creating brackets to hang from the t-nuts to mount "items of necessity". I will post anything I come up with... :spy:

I believe right off the bat you could install a "Quick Fist" to any T-slot nut, by drilling out the mounting hole of the quick fist to fit the 3/8" bolt size of the T-slot. From here, you could attach a shovel or Ax, or any tool the quick fist will hold. If you had a shell, or cover, etc. I believe you can get some 1"x1/8" flat stock iron, to cut "brackets" to hang down from the rail to be able to clear the "topper" with the same tools.

Good idea but if you drive a lot on gravel roads I think it would be best to make a bracket even if you don't have a cover. A shovel or axe would generate strong vibrations at medium or high speed on washboards and I wonder if the quick fist would resist if you enlarge the hole.

Good point. I thought about this. However, the t-slot requires a 3/8" bolt, and the width of the Quick fist where the bolt goes thru is 13/16" W. It illustrates a "plastic washer" supplied which goes on the inside of the clamp between the bolt and the clamp. I think if you can reconfigure the mount set up with the 3/8" bolt, and with the clamps I believe having a holding power of 22 or 23 lb EA, I do not think it will be an issue. But I will let you all know when I try it... :D

Slightly off- topic but kind of related. L2S makes adapters that bolt to bed cleats to allow use of Yakima or thule crossbars with the cleats. You can use conduit as a cheaper alternative to the Yakima bars as well.
