Hold over is where you aim your sights in relation to bullet drop or rise.

Notice how the reticle cross hairs are above the actual deer? That is hold over. Works the same for irons, red dots, scopes you name it.

just ordered 2. would've preferred the "safe/fire" marked ones but they were out.
1 is going to be a gift, the other is for my tack driver SPR build

Ohh I got ya... When breaking in the rifle and if it's chambered in 5.56 is it better to use 5.56 First then .223??? Or will it make a difference..??

There is no need to break in a chrome lined 5.56 chambered AR15. Just go out and shoot the piss out of it.

I had one I put together with an LRB lower and YHM upper with a cheap bulldog barrel, I got rid of my complete upper and I am going to start building a A2 upper with a 20" White Oak Precision stainless match barrel. Krieger blank, 1:8 twist, .223 wylde chamber

Got a legal question for anyone who knows:
At what point would I be illegally possessing a short-barreled rifle?
If I buy a 12.5" barrel, do I immediately need to apply for the stamp?

You need to have the stamp before anything. Sounds rediculous I know, but the ATF is all about "intent". Just get the stamp then buy the barrel.
