thanks for the offer buddy:) +1 to you! i'm not sure what direction i'm going to go in yet though. they stock and sell the arb bull bar why can they not just zero it out in their system and send one out to me so i can avoid paying labor twice or having the first instal mean nothing! if myself and some poor guy on tw has to fix their mistake in a back yard i think that may be to much for me to accept lol.

i hope someone from 4wp's reads this thread because guy's i don't even know are willing to help and give parts in trade plus help me install them out of shear kindness!!!!!!! they fucked up, they're the one's that need to fix it period. i may have to look into that class action law suit thats already under way it won't help me in the mean time but, in a year or two it may yield some pay back if they choose to ignore this.

also the bbb complaint i'm about to lodge against both company's. dude 4wp's carries a rating of F with the bbb! how many more claims have to be filed before they get into some serious trouble?

i can remember calling down south motor sports back in december to get an idea of what lift i needed and or wanted and weigh the pros and cons.

the guys there took time with me even when the y knew i had no intention of buying right at that moment. they asked me if i planned on running and armor plate steel bumpers aluminum bumpers what type of skids if any was i looking into.

they told me they would pick a shock and coil combo that would be perfect for me. it serves me right for trying to save a few bucks and buying from 4wp's instead of going through a great little small business like that. those guy's really knew what they where talking about and i'm positive i would not have had any of the problems i'm having now.

    hindsight is 20/20 man!

4wheel parts is bad, but I still shop there because I usually end up with deep discounts because they always screw up

yeah well its a gamble look at my situation here. they are completely at fault and it's serious as this could could destroy the differential in my new truck it rides stiff has almost zero down travel and sits at just under 4.5 inches!

dude there are way better deals to be had from vendors that actually care about their customers. ORW, TRUCKADDONS.COM, AUTOANYTHING.COM, DOWNSOUTHMOTORSPORTS, WHEELERS.

just to name a few. i will never et this shit slide this should be illegal it's so fucked up. when a situation like mine arises that is clear cut and easy to fix at the expense of the company why not just do it? i will tell you why because they do not care about their customers in any way shape or form. i recieved no customer service of any type as a matter of fact at every turn they shot me attitude.

OP I'm sorry you got burned. For future reference to all, I've found it is a good rule of thumb to believe the exact opposite of ANYTHING 4wp says.

the lift is fine if it's on the right truck. blacktacoma23 has this exact same lift and he loves it so do others. i actually hear you on the value of their parts and kits thats what drew me in as well.

the problem is i was so grossly misinformed throughout the whole process i actually thought i was going to be fine and it turns out it was never going to be ok the lift is not designed for any 4 cylinder tacoma.

thats pretty bad considering pro comp is a subsidiary of 4wp's! fucking 4wp's owns pro comp. jesus christ the building are right next to each other!

    ^ lol this.

double and triple check all information they give you never assume they understand anything or care lol.

when dealing with a company like this though why even buy from them? there are so many other great places to shop most are vendors on here for god sake. support the little guy's the people who care about their reputation in our community and the happiness and safety of their customers.

wrap your minds around the fact that this can actually kill my differential in a brand new truck toyota would not and should not cover any damage when it's caused by an improper part right. so i would just be ass out here i explained this to the manager of cust omer service in a calm nice manner and he laughed stating if i did not want the lift kit why order it? those words actually came out of his mouth! fucking unbelievable never again.

I have had multiple bad experiences with them in both San Diego and the worst 4WP store on the face of the planet in Portland OR. My F250 was built by two of their San diego stores(lift, rims, tires, programmer, gears, intake, exhaust, and hid's). Anyway while driving from SD to Portland at like 2 am (in the mountains) my hid's started acting weird when i would flash off the high beams all of the lights would shut off for like five seconds. Not a good thing when pulling a 10k pound trailer in the middle of winter. By the time i got into portland in the am my fog light hid's and high beams didnt work. I called 4wp and took my truck in. Some douche didnt know how to take out the head light switch so he pulled it right out of the dash breaking what i would find out later to be a 90 dollar part. Unfortunatly due to my daughter being born the next day and a deployment in a few days couldnt argue with them so i put the truck in storage. Later i drove back to SD and took the truck to the 4wp store down there. To make matters even worse they called me after having my truck all day to tell me that one of the like 6 fuses for that kit had blown. But since there shop didnt break the headlight switch i would have to pay for it... Months later i took my truck in to get it re geared to try and save some money on diesel and it took them 5 different trips to get the rearend to seal.

    HOLY SHIT DUDE!

yeah thats pretty bad! so they broke your shit and made it as inconvenient as humanly possible for you huh lol. it's stories like this i wish i had heard before purchasing anything from them.

i would never have let them install anything on my truck. i found a high end 4x4 only
shop that has been in business for just over 32 years and they tried blaming my situation on them lol. they made me send pictures of everything and then they still didn't give a fuck.

this makes me think of the chris rock skit regarding george bush lol.

like if you where hanging off the side of a cliff and all you needed was a fuck to get back on solid ground. and 4wp's was standing over you with a whole pocket full of fucks.

you would naturally say hey can you give a fuck here i need some help? and 4wp's would say sorry but, we don't give a fuck :rimshot:

    haha^

I havent dealt with 4WP much but the one time i call them about the procomp steel rims all they could say was i cant promise they will fit. so i go to the local store and he says he same but i was like anyway i could try and see if they fit? Like Im trying to give them my business but he was like we could but you'd have to pay for shipping back if they dont. The point is they were literally no help what so ever. Thanks guys!!! dicks.

Yeah it was a pain in the ass dealing with them. I dont know how many times i had to take my truck back for them to fix something. There was a good counter guy at the one in sd but the "techs" suck ass. I did have a procomp 6" kit and wanted to convert it to the 8" kit. The guy i always dealt with at 4wp called pro comp and got me a part list and shipped me all the parts out here to north carolina. Unfortunatly after wasting thousands of dollars on the Death wobble (at ford) i took a huge loss and traded it in and now have a tacoma with no problems.

Damn dude you need to find another shop. If I was you I would find another shop and order an OME lift or similar mid range priced kit. Seeing how the kit has only been on for less than 1000 miles you can sell your pro comp kit on here for around $350. The extra money you will spend is worth not having to deal with 4wp. It shouldn't cost that much to remove the lift if they leave the coils and struts assembled. You can leave the AAL and sell the new one with the new kit, or just replace the fronts and leave the rear shocks and AAl in place. If you go with 5100s and eibach or OME coils the only money you will have to spend is the install of the new kit. Just my .02

the rear sits at just over 4.5 inches it's not an option to just ignore it. if i brought the front down to 3 inches the rear would still be waay to high it would look retarded and probably drive worse. it would be double the factory rake or more lol.

they wanted to send me out ome 885 coils but do nothing about the labor or the rear suspension at all. when i explained to them thats the whole point of lifting the truck was to get 3 inches of lift and level the truck they told me i can't have everything! and it would look fine! my response was THE FUCK are you smoking over there! plus the 885 coils are not designed to work with the pro comp stiffer valved shocks it would more than likely ride horrible.

i can't afford to just go out and buy the ome kit or else i would. i spent thousands of dollars in a matter of a few weeks gathering the parts i needed for this build i'm tapped out and at their mercy bro.

i also need a full three inch lift as i chose a slightly larger tire a 295-70-17 to be exact.

the dat the lift was installed they told me it sat 4.75 inches higher! and i still needed the cab chop lol. if i went to 2.5 inches it would require major modifications to make the new trail grapplers fit correctly.
