short or improved shifter

Hey everyone I am looking into getting something to improve my shifting. It is a little notchey at times and catches going into 2nd aobut 50% of the time. I did change out the tranny lube with redline mt90 and that did help, but I am thinking if I improve the shifter that should resolve the problem.

I have been looking at the urd short throw, but not really sure I want really short throws. Anyone know a good product that may slightly shorten my shift but is also designed to make shifts more smooth. I hope someone can help me out. Thanks for your time. oh yeah 2.7 2008 Tacoma 4x4 5 speed.

A smaller clutch??? tighten the gear ratios (but i wouldnt do that)

 

I have been thinking about the URD short shift. How would that change the shift feeling? also is it harder to get into the gears? I had a short shift on a VW jetta I once had and I was not a big fan. Like I said shortening the shifts would be "okay" but I don't want much more then 20% shorter. What about changing the bushing or a lubrication?

 

the URD makes the gears shorter together and less having to use muscle to get it into gear. I belive that URD Short throw kit has everything you need to make it right.

when you say smaller clutch or bushings I am not sure what you mean. My truck only has 4000 miles on it so i don't want to pull the clutch just looking to make 2nd gear catch less when shifting from first, a little smother shifts...will a smaller bushing do this or the urd short throw?

No problem. smoother shifts.... go with the URD. a smaller clutch and new bushings could be costly. sorry its been a loong day

 

X2 on the URD, I had one on my old truck and it was a great product.
