and your special how? how many fans of any school have "ties"? i bet if you took away the people that do not have "ties" to a school you wouldnt have 3/4 of the fans anywhere. i pull for several teams every year and its just because i have family/friends that went to these schools and a few that i have no "ties" too. that mean i cant pull for them???

So are you saying you have to attend a school in order to be a fan? I've never understood that argument. Do I need to be from Nashville to be a Titans fan? Do I need to have lived in Boston to be a Red Sox fan?

If we limited fans to only those who attended schools, EVERY school would have a lot fewer fans. Miami is a small (and expensive) private school. How many Hurricane fans do you think actually attended?

So Alabama has more 'sidewalk' fans than a lot of schools... How does that make those fans different than any other school's non-alumnus fans?

I have two degrees from Alabama. I guess that makes me a double fan. My father in law is just as big a fan, but he didn't graduate from college anywhere. Should I tell him that he shouldn't pull for Alabama, or any school for that matter?

You don't even know me. My sister goes to the damn school. I have a cousin who goes to the damn school. Those are connections aren't they? My grandfather liked Bear Bryant's class and respect for others and that is why he was a fan. Another connection. My dad is a fan because of his father and Bear Bryant and it was the school he wanted to go to but could never afford it so he went to UWF. Don't ever say I want to be "part of the crowd," you could have asked me why I was a Bama fan before you made an asshat statement.

You shouldn't be so quick to assume, but I understand where your coming from. I have to deal with TU fans all the time, who have no ties to the school, talking crap on my school when in fact I know more about "there" school then they do.

Not the same situation though. I have not trash talked this guy about his school of choice whatsoever. I assume he likes Auburn and I have said a few things of Auburn but I have not targeted him with said comments.

If you know so much about "my" school you would know that it is
    The University of Texas
calling it TU just makes no sense. If it wasn't for The University of Texas there would not be any university system satellite schools such as
    assTomouth

Chill! you always get so mad about little things. I personally respect Texas a lot. I call it TU because it was founded after A&M and because it does not represent the state of Texas and its values at all and A&M does. And as far as the satellite and us not existing without yall thats dumb, we were founded first so yes we would be here with or without yall.
The TU thing is just a way of giving Texas fans a hard time, if they can't take it without getting mad I'll just refer to them as the longhorns.
