After coasting the truck resumes speed with too low of gear

    I read a post a long time ago that I can't seem to find now. I'm pretty sure that it was the same problem I'm noticing now.

    Basically, if the truck coasts for a few seconds and then you hit the gas the wrong gear is used to resume speed. Basically it feels like I'm driving a manual and I resume speed using a lower gear than I should...

    Someone mentioned in the other thread that a computer reset fixes this. If so how to I ask the dealer to do this? It's going to be in the dealership this week anyway so it would be nice if they could fix this minor issue

    I had the dealer do that shift tsb, mine still does it on occasion. Search around for some tsb info and you should find it.

    Have you had your gas pedal chop / brake override work done yet ?

    If not , when they do this recall work , the latest software will be loaded into the computer , this includes the tranny tsb update that used to be a stand alone fix .

    I agree with you ... I haven't noticed this on my 2011 DC LB .. I will check it out on my way home and pay attention .. Is this when using Cruise Control and manually pressing the gas after coasting, or just a normal coast and resume gas ?

    coast without depressing the gas then resume gas

    it doesn't happen all the time. probably dependent on what speed and what gear i'm in when i start coasting

    There is a lag in D as the torque converter unlocks when you accelerate

    A co worker of mine says this happens to him when he is slowing to make a right turn. Says when he starts to accelerate it drops down to a gear too low, like first gear.

    I've got 2011 DC 4x4, and it does the same thing--when I let off the accelerator to slow down and then resume acceleration, it feels like the truck is in too high of a gear. If I manually down-shift from drive to 4th, it feels like it's where it should be. Is there a fix for that?

    trd sport with avid off road light bar, avid rock sliders. OEM roof rack, 12' LED light bar, and Sock monkey decals.
    my 11 does not do this after using CC.
    but it'll do that if like at a red light if im still slowing down and i speed up before i stop it'll rev higher than normal. just cause its in lower gear then needed.

    I have an '09 TRD sport 4.0. Mine did the lag thing too. Had the tranny TSB reflash done and that fixed it for a while. Now it does it again. :confused:

    Why would a 2011 need this TSB. That should have been fixed with the newer model year.
