TSB = NO GO...now what?

OK, so I bought my taco with 50 some odd thousand miles on it a couple years ago. Got the 30K toyota certified warranty deal. TSB was never done.

ANyway, long story short, I am now out of the 30K warranty period, thus, I am not going to fight with them to get the TSB, which should have been done long ago, and due to having been out of the country I never got it done. I dont think its worth trying...but maybe you all will have better advice?

What do I need to get comercially to fix this issue? Im not looking to go up in ride height so much as stop the constant bottoming out. And I dont have a thousand bucks laying around.

Would the toytec 2" AAL and spacers for the font get 'er done or what?

i would just get a whole new leaf pack. the AAL will wear out really fast

 

I had the tsb 4 leaf pack from the Factory.. After two years the pack is quite sagged, and I will be replacing with the Dakar pack soon.

 

I would go with the 1.5 AAL from Toytec. I added it to my non-tsb leaf pack and fixed my bottoming out.

 

OK, that make sense...where can a guy get a new stock height leafpack other than through the stealership?

Ive never seen a stock height one listed for sale at the various and sundry suspension joints on the 'net...

I had been wanting an OME lift of about 2 inches...maybe I'll just save my pennies for that. Of course, I just bought new 265/70/17 tires, so that'd be a waste! LOL FML.

 

Air bags are pretty easy to install, and they are relatively inexpensive. I like the adjustability of them to handle diferent loads. There's two main manufacturers. I chose Air Lift because I retain my stock bump stops.

 

A local 4x4 shop in your area may make custom leaf packs to your liking. However, the cost for one of those will probably be as much as just upgrading to the Dakar leaf pack. I have it on my truck and it rides great and no bottoming out anymore.
