Good rig pretty much a trail rig only. Don't want to be riding on the street with stock steering 40's. Welded diffs and air shocks. Not my cup of tea for the $$$.

well this would be a trail rig, my truck is staying how it is , with the addition of some sliders and a rear bumper, i just want it street legal so i can drive to and from trails, and it's not bad for the price i don't think, i was thinking a jeep so i can have the doors and top off in the summer and have limited warmth in the winter for ice fishing

With welded diff's you're going to really want to be able to trailer it out to the trail.

It's a nice trail rig though.

I'd consider a Polaris RZR S or XP if you're in that price range as well.

I would have to agree. Those things look like fun. I see more and more of them out on the trail when I go.

Jeeps are fun but if you thought you spent a lot on modding your Taco, you haven't seen anything yet.

Yea, we own a Jeep too...can't wait to sell that thing. 9 MPG, 2 transmissions, and 1 engine to date. It's a rolling savings account destroyer.

Depending on how this new pickup is I may or may not be buying one used a few years down the line when I have money.

Mine was an '07 that I got new, then modded to the nines.
I put about 100k on it in 2.5 years. Motor and tranny were still tip-top, but started breaking suspension parts and had constant axle seal problems.
Sold it and came back to Toyota :)

That jeep is highly modified. Buying a built vehivle is a pain. You have no idea what parts are on it. When i breaks what do you replace it with? Im sure there are 100 parts on there that are not stock? What brand SYE do i need to replace because that one may not fit. ECT. And that jeep does have sliders. I would recomend buying a mildly built wheeling rig, with one of those when somethign breaks you can buy a new part. With that rig you will need to fabricate or hire a offroad shop to do the work.

pretty much what im looking for in a trail vehicle is something that is basically turn key (minus the stuff that i break),i can run 37" + tires on, and still drive to and from trails, i'm not at all interested in anything full size really i would prefer to keep it as low CoG a possible but still be able to take mud and woodland trails well... i appreciate any input
