I'm aware of all the closers and slides. It's a shame but we're still going to go. There will be a couple buggies with us so I'll have someone to watch before I tackle anything. If push comes to shove we'll head up a little higher and play in the snow.

I can't seem to avoid shipping costs for the life of me though.

rwalker, I'll vouch for the Allpro sliders. Cost me some money to have their sliders shipped, wish I had gotten this deal.

Oh, I definitely think you should still go - just don't get there and say, "everything's closed but the easy stuff", because all the easy stuff got much more interesting :)

rwalker reason I went with 4xinnovation is because it cost me total of $310 shipped for their sliders...DOM w/kick out. Best deal I was able to find when I was shopping around for sliders. If you wanted HREW it would be a bit cheaper.

And that's my truck :D a year ago. Looks a bit different now..

Good to know. All the rain we've been getting lately should add to the fun. Since a lot of the stuff is closed down all the main trails will see more use and get rutted out pretty quickly.

Nice. Do you have any pics? I just talked to some local fabricators that want $300 painted, with a kickout.

Ah didn't realize you have a access cab. My bad..not sure the measurements on access cab..$300 painted with kickout..is that including the install price? Bolt or weld? Doesn't sound to bad.

Good ol' Chinook pass. That'd be a nice scare for an on coming vehicle. This is the scariest pass in the winter (right before they close it). I go hunting in that area for elk and it snows sometimes before they shut it down. You go about 10mph through it in the middle of the road since there's not very many railings but plenty of cliffs that go 100+ feet down.

I am wondering if anyone knows of anywhere around the Corvallis area where I can go slosh around in the mud after all this nice rain. Not looking for anything crazy, just some nice mud for a couple of buds and I.

Logging roads south of town. Anywhere else and you'll probably get reported.

I was afraid that would be the case. First weekend open for the Naches Trail itself. Going up 676 would be in better shape because it has been in use since mid june and is not as high as the naches trail. At least you got to do some trails. Sounds like there were a lot of rigs over there.

Looks like Ravens Roost. Did get up there on the forest service road or did get to run that fun trail that goes up to that spot from the other side? That is about 6,000', any snow/ice up there at ravens roost?

Unless you know areas I don't, I think those got gated? I know beaver creek is a no go now

That's what one of our groups did, if I heard correctly it's about the only thing you can use for access so it's seen some heavy over-use

No, took the access road :( We tried to find the trail but couldn't.
No snow on the way up and snow at the roost, but plenty off on the mountains. I don't know what access road we took to get to the trail my group took, but it was the part of the naches where the trail goes over two wood bridges before opening to a big grassy meadow. In that area we had snow.

All of the OSU land is gated. But theres still plenty of county and private land that has log roads you can get on to.

Nope, never known of any actual trails. Sounds sweet tho.

So I'm over at my GF's grandparents house last night because her aunt from California is visiting. Sitting in the living room with the GF and a couple of her sisters. The 29 year old sister is going back to school to become an X-ray tech. She's cut way back on her hours at her work and claims to be completely poor. Even though I'm sure she's living off a loan or something to pay for the school.

Mid way through the night she comes up with the bright idea "I think I'm going to try to apply for food stamps. I can't afford food any longer." And then proceeds to search for information about it on the iPhone she bought last Friday. Anyone see any problems with that picture?

Sounds like the American dream. Her type of thinking is part of the reason we're in debt.
