Auto trans fluid?

I have a 2008 5speed auto transmission and I am adding trans fluid but I am a little shy. I used toyota brand ATF WS but they are closed, is it ill advised to add some of a different company?

well, I moved my truck to a more level ground and added all the rest of the trans fluid the dealer told me I would need. On the level ground it is not coming out of the overflow hole but was earlier in my driveway. My driveway is slightly inclined.

 

Well, it i did not drive it today and after I added 2qts it is still not coming out of the overflow hole. Dealer told me I only needed 1.7qts. I ran it for 30-45 secs and moved through all gears and then tried the drive to neutral back and forth to check the temp but the temp gauge never came on. thats what I was told to do but Im clueless. How do check the temp?

I finally got it figured out. I found the post by fortech and did some talking to a parts dealer. Up and running again, thanks for responding
