I'm not a basketball fan so you have to forgive my ignorance. I was thinking of it in terms of head to head elimination rather than a bracket style. I guess that could work but would take away from the build up of the bowl games. It will never happen imho.

Oh i know it wont....I just think it would be nice so there is none of this undefeated teams not goin to the championship. If you have a good record...you have a chance to prove yourself...if you cant...well then that sucks for you ahah.

drifter379 and Texoma how do yall feel about the new schedule? I personally like the fact that we get to play every team every season and we don't have to deal with a conference champ game.

I like playing all the conference teams every year but lack of Conference champ game is going to hurt if Texas or oklahomo don't win the conference out right.
The traditional power of Texas and oklahomo pretty much guarantee a shot at the title with an undefeated season. But if it were to be Missouri or God forbid aggie I believe an undefeated Pac12 or Big TEN+2 team would be picked over the BIG XII-2 winner.

You say that now... I doubt you will get past Arkansas, Missouri, or Oklahoma. All in all y'all have an easy schedule.

    X2

It gives a little more meaning to winning the conference imo.

Every conference should have a championship game. That's just IMHO. A team can be No. 1 in the country and be undefeated, then lose their conference championship game and not get to play for the NC, while another team doesn't have to play the extra game, therefore they have no shot at being knocked out of the No 1 or 2 spot. I don't like that.

I'm in favor of conference championship games, too. One of my biggest gripes with the PAC 10 was they didn't have a conference championship game. Now that's my problem with whatever the Texas/OU et al conference is called.

Just hoping really. I feel good about Arkansas and Missouri but Oklahoma will be extremely tough.

The reason why I'm glad about no confrence champ. game is because its one more game where key players can get hurt before a bowl game, but the draw back is it can result in a tie where some teams can be cheated.

Not trying to knock Oklahoma but I am thinking that Arkansas will be your toughest game, that being said I have not looked at both teams and compared player to player or coach to coach. I just think Arkansas doesn't get enough credit for the team that it is or that it could be. Not a fan. Just saying.

    +1

Of those three games, I wouldn't feel the most comfortable about Arkansas. I'd rank them OU, Arky, Missouri.

I agree with that ranking (OSU and Missouri are about thesame IMO), I'm not trying to down play Arkansas I just feel good about it. Lastyear we lost to them by 7 with a handicap QB and a defense that was stilltrying to learn the new scheme.

And last year Arkansas had a qb that had some talent but was a total flop under pressure...
