Oregon and Washington BS thread

It used to be you could access it all the way at the bottom, near the beginning of the FS road where the campgrounds are. Most of the bottom part is now closed due to over use but you can still access the upper part at about the 7 mile mark on the FS road. The trail up to Ravens Roost parallels to FS road almost all the way to the top. Its about 50 yards to the right in most places (as you are going up) and can be accessed at 3 or 4 spots along the way. For the most part it isn't super challenging, at least until the last 1.5-2 miles. Then gets quite exciting. The last 1/4 mile is almost straight up going over very loose surface. A fun little trail.

That sounds like the Government Meadows area on the Naches trail itself. That would be the highest point, probably 5-5,000'.

 

I doubt that land was owned by OSU. If anything it was timber property that was open until about 4 years ago.

I think you are correct. The FS road just before it as you are headed uphill leads to an overlook where we found wild strawberry plants (no fruit ), Which was just under 5200 feet

 

I am thinking a Naches trail run followed by a Ravens Roost run is on the (tentative) schedule for mid to late Sept. You (and all the Oregon guys ) are certainly welcome to join in the festivities.

There was a lifted black 2nd gen with a billet grill behind me today on 405 headed Northbound, just before I got off at the 116th exit.

Looked like a nice truck and wondered if it was anybody that was on here.

 

Did you by any chance get a look at the wheels and tires? Canopy?

 

Rims were black, possibly 'Javes. No canopy. Just a real nice looking black on black lifted second gen.

 

I'll have to keep my eyes peeled, I regularly see 2 nice lifted black 2nd gens on the Eastside, both with black wheels, but both with canopies.

 

I saw three different FJ's in Tanasbourne today with rev tec lifts and XD wheels. Must be popular out here. NO ONE in hawaii lifted their FJ's. Makes me only want one more...

 

Did it have a snorkel and a Relentless front bumper?

 

Looking for suggestions on a painter in Oregon to paint my truck. Bought it used and never been a fan of the silver and finally have an excuse to get it repainted as some relatives messed up the paint with bungee cords while moving their furniture.

 

Bring it over to my house. I can make it camo in about 30 minutes!!! Army, Navy, whatever colors you want!

 

I would say sure if I had an old toyota 4x4. A buddy in my fraternity has an old 84 pre-taco that he painted cherry red with rustoleum, actually looks good if you take your time but I'll keep the '05 as pristine as possible as I drive clients around in it.

James. If I remeber right that truck was on custom tacos then it was for sale at a dealer. IIRC

 

my CB died last weekend during my time in Naches.... i think there's a receipt around here somewhere, I'm sure it's still under warranty. Otherwise I'm looking at a Cobra 19 DX IV I think

 

It was a very nice looking ride. I would change the front bumper, but other than that, a beaut.

 

What's a good CB and antenna right now? I'm looking to finally install one.
