    OZ - Stupid question for you. When I took a structural collapse course, we learned how to build rakers and such. Very intense and physical class. We actually had to memorize the nailing patterns for 1/2 and full gussets. Do you actually use those patterns in building homes?

    Actually, the actual number and pattern that the gussets and cleats had to have. There were some people in my class who had done minor carpentry and have never learned these patterns. It was the number of nails and the design.
