whys my truck look smaller?

There is a blue tacoma at work that I see all the time. The last couple of days he has parked next to me. It is an extended bed, double cab. I have the short bed, double cab. Both sports. He has 265/70 BFGs, black out, I have 265/70 Generals, black side out. Pretty identical truck for the most part. Only other differences is I have the factory roof rack and he has a hard cover.

Well, when they are parked side by side, his truck looks way taller than mine from the front (we both back in). I got out the tape measure and it was identical. Mine mighta been 1/8 higher even.

My truck is silver, his is blue. I asked a coworker and he said the blue truck looked higher as well. Why is that? I measured the bottom of the side mirrors and to the bottom of the fender. both the same.

I was looking head-on though. the hood looked higher. obviously an illusion since they measured the same.

Blue ones are taller than Silver ones, come on, everybody knows that.....don't they?

blue might be taller then the silvers but we all know black is by far the tallest!!!

ok, now we will all have to line up next to each other and compare side by side.

im happy to see the amount of tacomas on the work site though. about 5 of them. 3 2nd gens and a couple first. even an older tundra. union proud and driving tacomas!

 

Does that make silver the shortest?

 

No, but we silvers have the greatest girth and best stamina.

 

Is the ground the trucks are parked in level or does it slope? That could definitely be the difference.

 

C'mon man! The owners manual specifically states you are to water silver mica weekly.
Do I have to do everything around here...

 

Maybe the guy with the blue truck shaves it.... I hear that makes it look bigger.

 

+2 - It's funny that you say that. I bought a DC LB, and black somehow made the illusion that it was taller to match the longness of the LB. There was a silver one beside it, and it just didn't look right. Can't explain it, nor do I want to know how.
