Are you guys kidding? The Earth IS flat. I've been meaning to share my other favorite website with you all for a long time now, but have never gotten around to it. Thanks to the OP for bringing everbody into the next best forum on the web.

And I don't appreciate the negative comments about people like me. The world is flat, and in the back of your little minds, you all know it!

Crazy site! I like this explanation:

    Q: "What about tides?"

A1: The tides exist due to a slight see-saw effect on the earth. As it goes back and forth, the water rushes to the side that is lower. Note, this is a very slight wobble. Remember, these wobbles are created by very minor earthquakes. They keep the tides in check. Notice that large earthquakes result in large tides or "tsunami".

A2: The gravitational pull of the stars provide tidal effects.

A3: The anti-moon is an object with a gravitational pull just like the moon, and is underneath the Earth. The moon causes the tides, and the anti-moon balances out the effect. These create predictable tides.

I want to know how they explain satellites? They can't stay in the air w/o using their momentum traveling around the globe to counter-act gravity. They're not like planes that use lift. How do they stay up there?

They CAN'T deny that satellites exist... we can WATCH THEM as they cross the sky at certain times. Not to mention the satellite dish on my house that's receiving a signal from SOMETHING.

Or the 'Ice Walls' that are boundaries for our flat earth that we live on....

I read earlier where this guy actually claimed to have encountered the 'Ice Wall' on a recent trip to Antarctica. This was after avoiding the government droids that were after him.

Q: "What about satellites? How do they orbit the Earth?"

A: Since sustained spaceflight is not possible, satellites can't orbit the Earth. The signals we supposedly receive from them are either broadcast from towers or any number of possible pseudolites. However, temporary space-flight is possible.

I guess I should have read more of that website! I can't believe these people are serious. I just can't.

If they truly believe in the ice-wall theory, they must be SCARED TO DEATH of global warming? (Would they call it pancake warming?) If the ice walls melt, wouldn't the world drain of all water?

Also... how do the ice walls exist? I mean, wouldn't the 'edges' of our planet be closest to the sun? They can't think that the sun only stays on the 'top' of the flat planet... b/c they surely know we have night time. Therefore it must be rotating around. If the world was flat, the sun would pass over (and relatively close to) these walls, melting them and killing everybody!

ALSO...I don't know why they decided the other side of the world was such a boring place (some say rocks, some say just barren). Why couldn't they have imagined an alternate world... a bizzaro world with a "dark-sided version" of each of us.

Q: "How does global warming affect the ice wall?"

A1: The Ice Wall is really a mountain range. It just happens to be covered in ice and snow.

A2: Global Warming doesn't happen. It and its counter-theory (Global Cooling) are effects that cancel each other out. Remember, these "greenhouse gasses" can reflect heat back out into space as well as keep it on Earth. There are recorded rises in temperature, but the only records we have go back, at most, around 150 years. This is very likely an occurrence that happens every [x>150] years, and the Earth has survived before.
I like the alternate "dark side" idea, it would be a cool addition too! :D

Upon further inspection, I have encountered this ice wall. It was one Sunday afternoon as I was traveling down to the southern pole...errrrr...end of the planet(?) and found this big wall of ice. I looked at it and it seemed to stretch for miles in either direction, then it started shaving itself off unto the sea. By this point I was baffled and had no idea what was going on. I thought I was going to fall through the ice wall and into outside space to die! The wall kept on shaving chunks of itself off and into the sea but then I realized that Martians were inside the ice wall trying to destroy our planet and I got out my pocket sized rocket launcher and started shooting at the wall to make them leave but then I woke up and realized it was a dream and this is stupid people that are being chased by the government's droids and have tinfoil helmets on to protect themselves.

    ...really? are they serious?

So nevermind the Flat Earth for a second... and focus on this central government thing with me.

If there is one major superpower government, is the situation in Iraq fake? What are our family and friends doing on their tours of duty? I want the great service members of this forum to weigh in...

are you guys hiding something? ;)
