Got the lift put on, OME 881 on the front and Daystar shackles in the rear. Nitrochargers at all corners. Replaced the rack bushings too.

Fenders are at 37.9" all around.

I like it for the most part, the tires look too small to me, already want to step up to 33's. Fuck.

Yeah, should have turned the fogs off, I'll take better pics this weekend.

Great looking truck. Just right! IMO the tires do not look to small.

Looks fantastic Dan!!! Very nice! fing32_15bd1f66e4128b323cd254c0ba169f1d1069aed5.giffing32_15bd1f66e4128b323cd254c0ba169f1d1069aed5.gif
How was the install and how does it drive/ride compared to before? You should start a build thread!:)

No, the tires don't look too small at all, it has great stance.

If you want to see more tire, I'd say get some Spidertrax 1.25" or 1.5" wheelspacers to kick the tires out some. It will give the impression that they are bigger and give the truck and overall more aggressive stance.

Again, it looks great, congrats to you and I look forward to seeing it at the meet!:)

Yeah I was thinking about getting the Spider Trax wheel spacers to give it a wider stance.

Don't get me wrong I really like it, the ride is much better (firmer) and it looks awesome, I've just been spending too much time looking at OldSven's old tacome haha.

The 881's, and shocks were ~$630 (shipped from DSM)
The shackles were ~$100 from Wheelers

The shackles were an EPIC pain in the ass, would not recommend. The stock bushings in the leaf springs were seized and took forever to remove. I got the shackles thinking they would be quick and easy and would hold me over until i bought a new leaf pack in a couple of months. I was very, very wrong:mad:

Just do an AAL or new pack all together.

    Hope this helps.

When you say it makes a "ping" noise, is that when you change direction from forward to reverse?

For me, the axle wrap makes a thump when i come to a hard stop. The only time i heard a "ping" noise was when my carrier bearing went.

Yeah I made it so it opens up. I also put d rings so I can strap stuff down or tether my dogs car harness to. I holds a lot too, tight now I have a come-a-long,2 tow ropes, 1/2" battery impact wrench, hatchet, small tackle box, and a few other misc items and still have room to spare.

I have a rechargable mag-lite, I think I am gonna mount on the front too.

No... I just winged it with some spare wood I had. It wasnt hard at all. I just made a rough sketch and then took all the measurements. there is no bottom to it so I can still get into the two storage comartments that are built in.

Finished throwing in my rear 5100's.

A little FYI - Front 51's set at 1.75 with "near flat" leaf springs & no AAL = level truck!

Coming off what was originally installed... it rides beautifully.

Scored a set of new Hella 500FF's for cheap to throw on before the weekend.

30 minutes I'd say. She actually wanted to learn and helped out a lot with the filter (things a pita for me, especially since I'm still getting flexibility back in my wrist from breaking it earlier this summer). It was nice having a helper in 104 degree heat/96% humidity even for little jobs like changing oil.

Where abouts in Idaho do you live? :) It really isn't that hard man.

    1) Buy oil, filter, catch pan, and funnel
    2) Open up engine bay
    3) Place catch pan underneath the drain plug. It's the closest plug to the front bumper and has a decent sized hole in the skid plate.
    4) No idea what size wrench it calls for, but I used a socket with an extension on it to reach up in there. Use them muscles and get it loose. Once it starts to turn test it by hand.
    5) Finish taking the bolt out by hand and when its about done grab it and move out of the way...enjoy watching your truck shit out dirty oil into the catch pan.
    6) Twist off the filter. It's the hardest part about oil changes. I use sandpaper to grip it. It's located on the driver side of the block, past the belts, alternator, and some other stuff...Don't be afraid to fondle around in there, you'll find it eventually. I usually use a grocery bag covered over my hand and flip the filter in real quick because it will shit oil as well.
    7) Replace the filter and tighten with the aid of sandpaper to "pretty tight" but not "too tight"
    8) Replace the drain plug
    9) Fill with 5 qts of oil
    10) Check the dipstick, anything between the two dots is considered good. I usually get it 3/4ths of the way up.
    11) Close everythign up and turn your truck on. let it idle for a coupla seconds and you're good.
