Ok gang. I have been on a lot of Yota forums. As I have stated before I am a mod on TTORA and Yotatech. I also surf Pirate and other wheeling forums (like my local Co4x4.org) But what makes TW so special? Introduce yourself. Tell me why this place is great (I don't need nudging I think I can tell this place is cool, but tell me why YOU think it is great).

Tell me funny stories. Stuff I have missed. Tell me why the ladies here rule (because us ladies need to stick together!)

Post pics and stories and anecdotes and thread links. Because while I have finally signed up I will never get all the dirt unless you tell me!

Oh and fair is fair. You can ask back!

Thanks for helping me understand you all... yo! LOL ;)

there is nothing to explain. TW.com is like Arnold Schwartanegger in his prime. It is just cool.

now ttora is another story. MOST are a bunch of assjockeys with to much time and money dumped into there trucks

TW is great because there is no douchebaggery here as in other Toyota vehicle inspired forums. Admin is fantastic and the Mods seem to be quite reasonable...

By far, my favorite forum... :D

Well, everyone here is a little crazy. Plenty of off topic threads, no one dis-respects anyone or the mods come running (I think we have a good group of mods here). Plenty of knowledgable people here. A fun place to hang out. Check out Chris4X4 for some laughs. I'm sure a bunch more people will jump in here.

Lol I get ya. For the record I have been a TTORA member since before they were ass jockeys and as a mod I can definitely say that on the national forum a lot of them are. Wanna know how that happened? It actually happened for a reason. See a long time ago when TTORA first started as a national forum (2005... before that we were all state chapters on Delphi).

Ok so what happened is in 2006/2007 there was a big schism. (sp?) Basically an old skool member got busted for drinking while wheeling. People took sized. It divided the whole forum. It sucked. The whole thing sucked. Because you never want to see a member wreck a truck because they were being stupid (drinking).

Long story short, many state chapters left TTORA. What happened next makes sense. Many newbs came on and saw us old folks razzing each other. they thought that was the norm. What they did not realize is that all us old skool folks knew each other. But because we had lost so many mods, the newbs kept coming and no one explained that the razzing was a little more "Pirate" and a little less "TTORA". I guess it got out of hand. People became Internet tough guys and the next thing we knew we had folks with a 35 post count being jack-asses!

If you have ever been to TTORA recently you know what I mean! It makes me sad. Wheeling is about helping each other, even if you drive a hummer, if you are on a trail I am on, and you are stuck I will PULL you out. And I would hope visa versa! ;)

So that is why TTORA AT THIS CURRENT TIME is a bunch of ass-hats. I do hope to see the day when the national board un-ass hats itself! In the mean time feel free to sign up and just hang with the or cottora = sub boards. We are great peeps :D

The members are what make this site so great (along with tcBob and the moderators). Everyone tries to help one another with questions about their Tacomas and nobody makes you feel like an idiot if you don't know something. There are a lot of forums for people with a variety of interests so it's not just all about the trucks. You actually feel like you get to know some of the other members personally even though you'll probably never meet them. We support each other through good times and bad. It's like the family you wish you had! Can't think of any other way to explain it.

maybe lead by example. if a newcomer joins a site and sees the razzing, then why should they be left out? everyone wants to be part of the cool crowd. you cant impose rules on some people and not others. Inside jokes can be cool, but things like insulting people and name calling, even if they are your friends, can give the wrong impression and make it seem acceptable. thats not much better than letting a cop get away with breaking the law just because they are a fellow cop, and then pull over the next guy doing the same exact thing because he is in a civilian car. just my opinion though. i havent been on the site any to see what goes on.

All the ass-hatting is why I left TTORA in the first place back in 2007 or so. I see TW as a big neighborhood bar and grille where you can stop by for a few minutes or a few hours and shoot the shit with a few of your buddies.

So hard to enforce on a forum as big as TTORA, but you have the right idea. You guys have the right size to set this right! :D

*sigh* While I am looked upon as a good member on TTORA I have also been attacked in my own home. Kinda sucks no? Still I try! *grin*

    I'm Snipe
I have been wheelin in Toyota's since I bought my first one back in 79.

I'm relatively new here, I came here cause I bought an 08 Tacoma and was looking for a way to bypass something that the Toyota engineers were sure Snipe wanted on his truck and Snipe was pretty sure he didn't.
Google led me to a couple others boards which led me here and I found exactly what I was looking for.

The only problem is I closed my browser which erased my history and now I can't find my out

TW is awesome just because. It's like family here. Good times or bad, truck or not, there is someone here that's been there or, has some kind words, or some helpful ones. TW cannot be topped.

LMAO Nice one snipe. We actually got my kid sister to buy an 08 Taco. Sexy she is in it.

    [IMG] [IMG]

But it doesn't lend itself to wheeling like my rig. Oh well she borrows tippy when she needs to!
