Just bit the bullet and ordered Rigid Industries 30" led light bar. Had four hellas retrofitted with HID's but I kept having issues with them as well as vibrations in the light so I went with LED's. Man I hope I don't regret this

Dude I'm excited but also sad because I'm broke :D Oh well money comes and goes. Also ordered those special locks so it slows down thief's. Hopefully I can have it all rigged up before we go wheeling again.

Supercharger, OME lift w/ LR UCAs, running boards, toolbox, extinguisher mount, skidplate, N-Fab light bar, 40" R.I. LED bar, WO seat covers, TRD intake, Weathertech mats and visors, stubby antenna, hood struts, LED interior lighting, Hella Supertones, and other stuff I'm forgetting.
I'm curious to hear how you like them.
I've been looking at several different LED light bars also, just haven't decided which one I want yet.

Well I recieved my LED light bar and I have to say I'm disappointed. First off the place I ordered them from (NOT DIRECT FROM RIGID) sent me the amber color instead of the white color even after i specifically told them i wanted the white. I tried them out and the light bar is not as bright as my 4 hellas retrofitted with 55 watt HID's. I hope it's because of the amber color. Does anyone know if the amber color is less bright than the white color?

The white will probably be a bit brighter but I don't know if it will be that much brighter

I'm wondering if I should just return and get a refund or should i take the chance with the white. Im starting to think it's not worth the high price.

Right about now i think i can live with the vibrations. Can anyone chime in that has had some experience with these lights?

for the money i would look into a headlight retrofit, and keep your 4 HID hellas or figure out how to retrofit them. i just dont see how much brighter an LED bar can be for twice the money, certainly not twice as bright

Return it for a full refund! The white will be considerably brighter.
I am friends with the guy who designs these (housings and reflectors) and his prices are usually amazing compared to anyone else.
    For instance: 30" Rigid Light Bar $750 shipped - - - 31.5" Total Length
He has sold quite a few to the Glamis/sand dune crowd.

Here is how I mounted mine. Got a good deal on this roof rack and can easily remove it:

Here is a video comparison of 2 different types of HID's and a 50" Rigid LED bar. Keep in mind the video is shot with an iPhone and is deceiving. The HID's are not fully warmed up AND they project light farther (iPhone does not pick this up as well as closer light) than the LED bar but the video makes you think the LED bar smokes the HID's. This was mounted on my sand car above 4 HID's. It's the ultimate setup for higher speed driving IMO.

Him and I have done extensive side by side comparisons between the Rigid bars and almost all other brands. They are the brightest on the market AND they stay bright since they are designed with a good heat sink and don't get hot. We noticed other brands tend to get dimmer after they warm up. If anyone would like pic's and more info let me know.

On a side note, LED technology has advanced quite a bit recently and Rigid just announced a new LED bar that will smoke their old one, so I am told.

Here is one of his CAD renderings of the current model:

Thanks mike this is what i was looking for. So your saying the HID's project further down the road but in the video it looks like the LED's are better just because of the camera. Do you know if the amber (like what i have) is less bright? I'm just a little bummed right now since i was expecting more.

Thanks mike. I think I'm just going to get a refund on my lights and go another route with my lighting.
